Read chapter, and I'm wondering how the hell they are going to win this without Naruto jumping in to save the day and shit. I mean I'm all for seeing Sasori vs Kankuro using Sasori puppet, but you got 2 Akatsuki who can't die versus these guys and it leaves me very skeptical unless they trick Deidara to kill himself again.

With Deidara's personality, I don't believe it will be difficult to trick him into killing himself again lol. The hard part about it would be surviving it. Sasuke BARELY survived it way back in the day and even with the stunt he pulled, he was still out of the game for a while. Personally I believe Kishi's trying show just how far the side characters have come along and not consistently fall back on Naruto for everything. The basis of this war is to Capture and Kill Naruto. I think of it like chess. Although the King piece is participating, it's up to ALL the other pieces to develop and protect the king.

Not a bad chapter at all. And Anko getting off'd does hurt but at least it's happening to a really REALLY minor character.

Minor or not she was still one of the more interesting females of Naruto. Her dying helps to further cement the theory that being female and being useful or interesting in Naruto is certain death with Temari being the sole exception.

Is it bad that I can't remember and don't care to look up who these extra ninjas are/were and just want the initial cannon fodder to die so we can get back to Glowy Naruto/Bee action? Wasn't a terrible chapter, but I can see this whole 'omg ur supposed to be dead' "KILL ME YOUR BEST FRIEND I'M A ZOMBIE" getting very old very fast.

Hoping something crazy happens that wipes out all the zombies at the same time because this shit is going to take forever otherwise. Kishi didn't exactly do himself any favors either by saying the zombies will stay alive even if Kabuto is killed off. Wrote himself into a corner Kubo style with that little tidbit.

That tidbit was there back when orochimaru first did it to add suspense. To change it would just be a retcon and Kishi is probably trying to find a way out of it without using a bullshit retcon.

Yeah, was referring to the fact that Kabuto summoned a shitload of them in comparison to just two with Orochimaru.

I think it was probably more because a mass summoning would mean they all couldn't be controlled at once and as such might revolt before control could be exerted. The 3rd demonstrated that another person being there during the summoning can fuck shit up and raising an army like kabutomaru did gave the possibility that the 3rd could jam whatever portion of the ninjutsu gave full control which would leave orochimaru in the middle of a sealed arena with 4 pissed off Hokage at minimum all ready to deliver an ass whooping of epic proportions.
Orochimaru understandably didn't want to risk it.

Both Kakashi and Tsunade were amazed by Kabuto's skill back when he was just "Orochimaru's mysterious right-hand man," maybe this is just another example of his prodigious talent.

Not saying that really helps at all, but whatever.

Wouldn't he have gotten a huge power-up from fusing/whatevering with Oro? Or whatever was left over of him? It's not like it's the same Kabuto from the fight between Tsunade/Jiraiya/Orochimaru that's summoning all these bodies with Edo Tensei.

I'm betting they reveal that kabuto was completely taken over by oro a while ago and oro is playing Madara right now.

Story right now is absolute shit though, in my opinion.

You know I was just thinking about this but who would have been in the 3rd coffin Oro summoned against the 3rd hokage? The 4th's soul was sealed but then again Oro didn't know that so maybe it would have just not worked if it wasn't blocked. It's pretty much a non-issue but still it'd be funny if it came up this late in the game maybe as the hidden body Kabuto showed Madara.
