It was when he was first training with King Kai before Vegeta/Nappa. He basically said that Kaioken multiplies his Ki's strength, but it could end up ripping apart his body. (which is why his body was so devastated after his kaioken x4 against Vegeta.) the draw back seemingly seemed to have been abandoned later on, as he does Kaioken x10/15/20 with little to no visible drawback.

My friend and I were talking about the early days today at work. Gaara Vs Lee. It's the start of the fight. This website gives you both dubbed and subbed so you can pick your poison.

And I loved the spin offs. If there is more, great. If there aren't anymore coming, I'm still satisfied with just those.

Probably assumed to have been overcome by his Saiyan nature, at least, that's how I explained it. What doesn't kill him makes him stronger, and all that.

Basically how I saw it. He surpassed his bodies limitations when he was training in 100x gravity.

You seemed to have missed the mark, buddy.
That doesn't explain anything about it killing him while he's Super Saiyan. Try again.

It's never really explained, just assumed that it's impossible to use Kaioken while a SSJ for the mere fact that Goku never did it and had several chances to use it. Kaioken itself is pretty plothole ridden, with the randomness of the aura to the fact that there is a Kaioken x2, which makes no sense since the normal Kaioken already doubles ki(iirc he uses a plain Kaioken at some points, unless this is assumed to automatically be a x2 when no number is specified. Been a few years.)

how does it not? It would still have the same drawback. It doesn't matter how strong he is, 2x his amount of power is still twice as much.
And like it's been said already, it doesn't matter because there are indeed plot holes with it and it never actually happened cannonically because he never wanted to use it.(minus the very end of the kid buu fight, which he might not have had enough energy to use it)

Cracks me up how when there's nothing to talk about in shounen topics, DBZ gets brought up. Just goes to show how much of an impact it had this generation.

I was really stoned once as DBZ was nearing the end, and our cat had just spit out a litter of kittens which were swarming one of my sisters while she was eating some popcorn.

I stood up, walked over to them and went "BUUUUU!" then started flinging cats around.

It was pretty damn amusing at the time, and my favorite thing about Buu.

The rock lee spinoff is fantastic though.
