Yea I'm confused on that too. Zabuza didn't have his sword one panel and the next it's magically there w/o having been summoned or anything. So blaming KabutOchimaru sounds good to me. . . . . .fucking KabutOchimaru and his magical ways!

There was... sec.
edit: guess you cant use images from them anymore, linked page instead.
In before Zabuza strikes haku down, causing him emotional pain, and releasing his soul.
Badass chapter, reminded me of Rurouni Kenshin with all the different sword styles. That blast-sword looks fucking sick. I'm pretty confused about something though, what chapter was it Suigetsu lost Zabuza's sword? Been awhile so I don't really remember but did Kabuto swipe it up when Suigetsu was arrested by the samurais?
Now see, that was a good chapter. Kubo could learn something from this.
I kind of want them to explain these swords some more. I can see how some of them work but some like salmendar and zabuza's sword just feel kind of out of place in Naruto's universe.
An the seven swordsmen we see now were the last generation. Unless you count kisame and waterboy but they took those swords they never got passed down to them. So it's possible that the person who summoned their swords always carried around that scroll for them.
What I'm curious about is how at the beginning of the series, they made a big deal about ninja bodies after death, saying they contain many secrets etc. However we look now and apparently kabuto grave robbed some of the strongest ninjas in every village like it was nothing. Wtf is up with that? I really don't see how he could have done that, or why they don't just cremate I mean cmon now -_-.
Jesus Christ why does this come up almost every page?
You don't use the body of the deceased. You use another totally unrelated person to use as a conduit for the deceased's soul to occupy. There's more to it than that, like mixing in dirt and clay or something, that gives the bodies their shape, but I don't remember that too well.
Yeah, the formula is basically: random sacrificial body + Zabuza's soul = resurrected Zabuza. The sacrifice is there to provide the soul with a physical form. It's like a vessel, basically. There's the logistics of adding ash or mud or some shit, but that's the simplest explanation.
What he's talking about on the whole body bit was that you also needed a bit of the persons DNA for the summoning to work. That's why he couldn't resurrect certain ninjas like Jiraiya. Kabuto himself said he was kinda grave robbing.
Yeah, he even said that some of the bodies were in such horrid shape that he wasn't totally sure who he was getting.
Man, it'd be pretty hilarious if he did Edo Tensei with the thought of summoning someone really powerful, but ended up summoning someone totally useless.
Like Obito.
Went through the chapter with notepad open to try and help explain things for people who are confused
People brought back to life (left to right page 3):
Suikazan Fuguki = Great: Sharkskin [Kisame had the sword, now it's with Bee? I forgot.]
Akebino Jinin = Blunt: Helmsplitter
Hohzuki Mangetsu = Leader [Kept the swords that weren't passed down?]
Zabuza Momochi = Sever: Great Beheader [Already had the sword]
Munashi Jinpachi = Blast: Splash
Ringo Ameyuri = Bolt: Fang
Kuriarare Kushimaru = Long: Threading Needle
So, besides Samehada the only missing sword is the Twinsword Hiramekarei, which was passed down to/stolen by Choujirou.
i donnt know how its hard for some of you to comprehend, he needs the dna and soul to use edo tensei. Why anything remains of a dead nin is a semi plot hole itself because they made such a big deal of dead ninja bodies early in the series. Cremation should be standard practice in a world like narutos. But ill just file it under suspension of disbelief.
Also, someone said how these swords dont fit into the naruto universe, but they totally do. We already know sasukes sword cant be blocked, and susanoos sword seals all it touches. Im suprised the 7 swordsmens swords arent more broken tbh lol.
