On the plus side with so many individual fights this actually bodes well for the anime. Being able to extend fights is far more interesting than watching amazingly crappy filler storylines like fighting talking Ostriches.

chapter 7: asuma learns about his child
chapter 8: his girlfriend shows up
chapter 9: he gets defeated from seeing his child
chapter 10: he looks back at his times with his students and girlfriend
chapter 11: he says sorry
chapter 12: students cry and say sorry

see you in 15 weeks (because you know somewhere in there will be some Sasuke chapters).
