No. I havent read the manga, and anime is just painfully slow (ie: unwatchable)

If my memory serves right, these past 2 or 3 episodes came straight from the manga, it's the exact same as it was in the manga. This arc hasn't seem dragged out to me yet.

I don't really understand what happened to his arm either, but if it was just punched off with one hit then Pain is definitely toying with Jiraiya. Otherwise, why not just punch through his stomach or something?

Oh, and I can't wait for next week, looks like his inevitable demise and also figuring out what the fuck Pain is.

They don't really say what attack took off his arm, when I first read it I thought it could have been one of the big swords Jiraiya stuck in the 3 pains. Do we know what the scroll Jiraiya carries around on his back is for, is that how he summons the big frog?

I'm pretty sure that was where he had Naruto write his name and put his hand mark to allow him to summon frogs. I think it was just a scroll to allow people to summon the frogs? Not sure if it has any other uses.

It's the scroll of the frog users, its nothing special at all.
