Which btw Sasuke never did fully beat Orochimaru. He was still inside him waiting for his chance which he took during his fight with Itachi. But then he got sealed because that was exactly what Itachi was waiting for.

Laughed a bit harder at this than I should've.

But yeah, Orochimaru was probably a bit ahead of Jiraiya. Wasn't it implied that Jiraiya also tried to stop Orochimaru in the same way that Naruto tried to stop the Sauce, but also failed at it?

Also, being weakened for much of the story and being able to go up against a berserker rage Naruto (forgot how many tails had gotten out) is no small feat.

Yeah, Jiraiya and the 3rd both tried to talk down Orochimaru out of his obsessive mad scientist behavior. It's amusing though because Oro has always looked evil and his commentary often followed suit. What were they expecting of him? lol

At least Sasuke seemed decent enough with his no kill policy till he let the rage take over.

Oro was badass for a normal though. He lacked the superpowers of eye hax, bjuus or other bloodline limits and was powerful enough to be known across the ninja world.

Pretty much akin to Sauce vs Naruto throughout Part I.

It's only since sage mode onward that Naruto has really balanced off w/Sauce and then becoming more powerful since training with Bee.

At least till the bandages come off and Sauce goes SSJ.

If only they read "The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya"! Then they would have known Orochimaru was going to become his archenemy!

but seriously, I'm sure the majority of ninja actually shared many concepts with Orochimaru. Kind, peace loving, lets-get-along types probably arent all that common when it comes to waring nations.

random fact: In the Super Sentai Series that used the ninja suits, the black ranger, who used the Frog Zoid, (Bosch in NA), was named Jaraiya

Naruto episode was mostly filler but was kinda cool. It showcased the relationship between Kakashi and Guy and their "rivalry" between each other. It's nice seeing light-hearted stuff like that if you care for that sorta thing.

I'm hoping this upcoming week it will be less Zzzz, and more ass kicking. Sand vs sand is as tedious as genjutsu vs genjutsu. My poor eyes can't take another Itachi vs Sasuke

Correct, no episode last week. There is one this week though, and a double episode next week (I assume this is why there wasn't one last week).
