Ya that's what I do as much as I'm stuck reading the manga I wish I hadn't started it some ways. Animation is just so much for entertaining usually.

Shame the anime portions are fucking retarded and full of fail. With so many side characters it's absolutely ridiculous that the filler in Naruto is as bad as it is. Give us some cool sidestories about the other Konoha ninja that don't get to be in the spotlight that often and don't suck at life like Ino/Sakura. Either that or they should eschew filler in favor of an animated version of Rock Lee Springtime of Youth.

I feel like after the speech he gave to Naruto shortly after the Kage summit in Samurai land, and the war happening to protect Naruto and Bee, his angry+surprised face strongly suggests Naruto being the one jumping in. We'll have to wait... half a day or so to find out I guess.
