It's still impractical for that very reason, but unlike Jiraiya, Naruto--being a senjutsu prodigy--seems to need progressively less time to prepare Sennin mode. It seems that at this point he barely needs a second of stillness to enter Sennin mode before whipping ass.

And as was said, fuck yes Sennin mode remaining relevant. Now all he has to do is develop some more futon jutsus, get another badass cloak, and then it's "like a boss" from there.

He did stand still. We don't know for how long since it was only 1 pannel, though. Besides, he's the only one to ever fully master it, so odds are that he don't have to stand still fir as long as Jiraya, who never managed to master it.

He stored energy while Raikage was off chasing the ball thing.

And from the looks of it, Raikage chased that motherfucker a long ways away. Naruto doesn't need much time to prep Sage Mode when he's focused on an objective and not being a normal hyper teenager. I'm sure even a good 20 seconds of emptying his mind and focusing would be enough to activate an initial burst of sage energy.

Eventually, all Naruto's friends start to help his enemy. Hinata thinks back to the time she told this new enemy that she loved him, right before he saved Konoha from Pain.

New enemy is really Sasuke, who hijacked Madara's Moon's Eye plan to make everyone see him as the hero.

It also conveniently screws up Sakura's head enough that while she might have feelings for Sasuke, ultimately she loves Naruto and will obsess over him more, freeing him from one more annoyance and making Naruto's life more of a living hell.

Idk, he seems to be getting smarted and smarter in every fight aside from him/bee/itachi vs. Nagato. Thats the only real fight he was in recently where he acted like a moron that I can remember.

In his defense during that fight, he was 1 - Up against two of the greatest ninjas in terms of ninjutsu, genjutsu, and trolljutsu. Not to mention spitting up a crow can fuck up your head pretty bad.

But you gotta keep in mind, Raikage was using that lightning shroud, which, if it works like the current Raikage's, makes him almost as fast as Minato. If that's the case, Naruto would have even less prep time for Sennin mode.

Though I concede my "barely as second" statement was reaching, Uzor was right in that we can't really gauge the space of time in one panel, I still think Naruto probably needs only an instant at this point to gather senjutsu.

i'd say he needs a good 30-60 seconds to get into sage mode thats not really that long so if you can get dragged off and he started storing energy during the talk with bee and 8 tails it would be easy for him to go sage mode quickly not a bad chapter but needs more rasenbombs :/

My memory's a little fuzzy here, but I know after Naruto killed Tendo Path/Yahiko and was tracking down Nagato's real location, he only needed a few seconds to gather Chakra to go back to Sennin mode. This was in the anime, mind you, but I remember it showing him in a focused pose while he gathered nature chakra, then immediately went to Sennin mode.

But yeah, seconding that I'm glad he still has a use for both modes. I'm all about making his arsenal more diverse, since he's been a one-trick-wonder for too long.

Liked the chapter, it showed relevance to Naruto's Sage Mode, which is epic and practical. You don't need to be fighting on godlike level all the damn time (hint hint, like Bleach and shit). I had a feelling he'd use Sage Mode in this saga story, so I'm happy it actually showed up.

Chapter was awesome, shows that Sage Mode isn't thrown into the wind. Still plenty useful.

Naruto is an awesome tactician, and I love seeing how strategical he fights.

The chapter is definitely better when he doesn't simply go barreling into the opponent hoping to KO him with a Rasengan or a punch.

Anyone else waiting for Naruto to collapse from overwork as soon as Madara shows up? Incoming DBZ chapters where everyone has to delay the bad guy while Narutoku recovers.

Don't think he'll collapse since he's using the 9-tails chakra, and he being overrun by the 9-tails at this point would be silly storytelling.

I think he just doesn't know how to do it yet. During the training he had to mix different kinds of chakra or some shit, and he had a hard time figuring out how to do it.
