Decent chapter, looks like the Kyuubi might not be such a dick anymore and we're going to see Sasuke haxxing his way in. Don't know why the others from his old team are headed to Orochimaru's layer though?

I think they are looking for Sasuke and Karin? They got captured before Tobi showed up and declared war, right? They have no idea what is going on at the moment lol.

Not sure if spoiler tags are needed but I will anyways, definitely hoping the nine-tails is going to get involved and smack the rest of them around, he seemed pretty confident with how strong he was. It's interesting that Tobi doesn't seem to be able to control them that well, did the 5-tails try and him? I wonder how that'll effect things

I dunno, I'm sure that the fights are going to be great but something about the 9 tails (the evil mass of chakra and hate that killed so many people and causes so much destruction) being won over by the power of friendship seems incredibly lame to me.

It is incredibly lame but it was also inevitable the second Bee and the Hachibi were introduced into the story. Chapter felt way too short, thought it was interesting as hell though Kishi is making Tobi struggle to control the bijuu's. Going to suck that nothing is going to seem to get resolved before the New Years break.

There was an interview with Kishimoto floating around where he was asked about the biju power scale. He hinted that ichibi through hachibi may be anywhere from 1.5-2 times more powerful than the previous, but kyubi is potentially thousands of times more powerful than the hachibi. The kyubi is like the top 1% holding like 90% of the wealth (or chakra).

It might explain why he's not entirely worried about the other biju.

Is it such a surprise? Since the introduction of Bee (and mentions of Yugito), Kishimoto had been establishing that beast/host relationships weren't all volatile--that some of them were downright friendly. If it was possible for the nibi and hachibi to establish friendly relationships with their hosts, then biju weren't all negative emotions, which would imply that the kyubi wasn't all negative either. And from the moment it wasn't set in stone that biju were all hate and chakra, the door was opened for Naruto to win the kyubi over with his trademarked Power of Friendship.

My only criticism is that not enough deaths have occurred during the war arc as it stands. Jiraiya was taken out during the Pain arc and that was meaningful to the manga but the disney deaths of Kakashi, Pa, Shizune and Hinata undercut the momentum of what Pain had done to Konoha. Here's Kishi's oppurtunity to show he means business.

We're reaching near the end of the manga and Kishi needs to off some of his beloved characters. It won't be easy and I wouldn't suggest throwing random into the meat grinder to up the body count but this is supposed to be the war to end all shinobi wars with giant fucking bijuu and kage-level ninja running around and the idea that everyone survives would be totally ridiculous.

Kyuubi changing his mind about Naruto makes sense as he stands to be killed if he doesn't assist and above all self-preservation is key to bijuu. Madara fucked with him once, he's not about to let that happen again with Tobi and Naruto has grown strong enough to master his chakra. The friendship doesn't have to be buddy-buddy like Bee/Hachibi but mutual respect goes along way in beating Tobi and potentially Sasuke/Kabuto further out.

Speaking of sauce, it's good to see him back in action. I wonder what Jugo and Suigetsu are going to do once they find out that Taka is disbanded and their leader has turned into raving maniac. Join Naruto's side? lol.

Do want more monologue from Sauce followed by Itachi showing up on a cloud of black crows for epic lulz.

i really don't think 9 tails is been "friendly" i think he just knows where he needs to stand right now (been the good guy for a week doesn't make you a good guy for life) although maybe naruto pulling the chakra out of him made 9-tails rethink how weak human's/biju's can be and is sitting on his hands til his pride is re-built

I'm not sure 9-tails will help him right now actually, it might be a ploy... I'm thinking perhaps Guy or Kakashi jumps in to save him. I don't think Naruto will merge and fully use the 9-tail's powers until either Bee, Kakashi or Guy dies.

I'm glad they finally explained how Naruto was able to make multiple clones while not dying when taking the 9-tails' power. But I can't help but wonder why the 8-tails doesn't do the same thing with Bee.

Other then that though, did any one else have as much trouble as I did trying to figure out what was going on in each panel? They were so busy and cluttered, I pretty much said fuck it and just read the bubbles cause I wasn't going to figure out what they were actually doing by looking at them...
