That isn't right. The fox stopped fighting over chakra awhile ago. Then during the Madara fight he gave Naruto's clone his chakra. And just recently, the 4tails told him to do it again.

This is correct.

I agree and I disagree with hoping this whole thing with the 4-tails finishes. Depending on what Kishi does with the story after Son is set free, if he's set free, then it could either really be interesting or really drag on.

Yeah, rereading the olde chapters I was mistaken. I had thought Naruto had taken control of all the ninetail's chakra. I'm guessing he only has control over a majority of it, not all of it.

Actually it's really wasn't an issue of his lazy attitude towards study. Naruto did at times try incredibly hard but had troubles because of the flood of the fox's chakra. During times of emotional distress such as Iruka being attacked and the first "death" of Sasuke (God damn looking back don't you wish he had died) I believe the base instincts allowed him to easily grab the fox's chakra even though he had yet to be taught how to use it. The anime really unfairly made him out to be more of an idiot in many ways than the manga. Overall Naruto is basically a genius in most aspects of ninjutsu. The biggest weakness Naruto has really is his perceptional awareness or whatever you want to call it, basically he's weak against genjustsu.

It's implied more or less Orochi just tightened the seal on Naruto so he couldn't pull chakra from the fox. Once Jaraiya fixed Minato's seal and taught him to make use of the fox's chakra Naruto had a much easier time preforming basic ninjutsu. Later it's even said by Yamato, Naruto actually has to constantly control the fox's chakra with his own just to prevent it from bleeding out too much.

I can envision Kishimoto's office a mess of concept art everywhere, and a board with a timeline pinned to it, noting points at which shit happened orbited with a mess of sticky notes full of extra details.

Kubo's, on the other hand, is probably just a mess of concept art.

Not really. I think they both pull shit out their asses from time to time, hei guyz the Uzumaki clan was a big deal, while simultaneously abandoning previously established canon or ideas, Orochimaru's inexplicable inability to find a local sharingan shop back in the day..

Only difference between Kishi and Kubo is that Kishi is able to continually explain his story in a coherent fashion. Not no "the heart" bullshit.

Yes, I think they pull shit out of their asses sometimes - and even occasionally stray away from their original idea, when they get a new "better" idea. However, I also think that both of them sometime have too many ideas, and have to scratch a few in order to not slow down the pacing of the manga; hence why we have some unexplained things that a lot of people want explained.

Maybe Orochi didn't just want the eyes, but the entire body of an Uchiha so he doesn't suffer the chakra problems that Kakashi has while using it. As we've seen in the manga, have a sharingan has a slew of drawbacks and Orochi being a genius probably wanted as few problems to deal with as possible.

Well it's mostly that Oro's body can't last most then 3 years, also like you said if he has the full body maybe he wouldn't have any limitation for sharingan like Kakashi does

Orochimaru wanted Itachi's sharigan specifically once he knew that wasn't an option he went after Sasuke. Oro had access to plenty of Sharingan, look at Danzo's arm...

orochimaru wasn't the kind of villain that liked to do mass genocide he liked to keep his pray alive (besides that weird anime ep where he had that room full of farmers kill each other....)

Orochi kept plenty of people alive for experiments and stuff, but he had no issues with killing them on a whim. He killed people during the part of the chunin exam in the forest, he attacked Konoha and i'm sure plenty of people died then, he had sasuke fight like 100 people or something (sasuke sparing lives =/= orochi sparing lives).

killing a couple of people now and then isn't like one rogue badass going into a clan and wiping it off the map then having a creepy old man come in and harvest there eyes.....

Why are people debating what Orochimaru wanted a sharingan for? Isn't what he wanted laid out nice and simple in the manga?
Orochimaru wanted Itachi's body. He didn't necessarily want the Sharigan, he wanted the best body a ninja could have and in his opinion it so happened to be the Uchiha(because of the sharigan) and Itachi was the best Uchiha available to him. Remember that being "the greatest ninja that ever lived" meant to have knowledge of every single jutsu, according to Orochimaru.

But Itachi beat Orochimaru and Orochimaru fled the Akatsuki. Later he started the war against Konaha and "lost" his arms and he needed a replacement body. Orochimaru wanted Sasuke's body because again he still believed Uchiha to be the best ninja body and Sasuke would be a great strong ninja, however Sasuke still wasn't strong enough so Orochimaru decided to use the bone guy until Sasuke was ready. but then Bone guy got sick and became ineligible for transfer, so he had to use some other schmuck while he waited for Sasuke to improve. and when the time came, well Sasuke beat Orochimaru.
