The power Goku gave Naruto will show up randomly during a fight. Most likely Goku will suddenly start talking to Naruto mid-fight with some important information or ability for the specific situation he finds himself in. Naruto will of course be shocked and say something like 'Yo Monkey-man, I didn't know you were inside me!'

I've always wondered what type of test he would need to pass to become a chunin. He's got the power to do shit solo.. but can he lead a group? They obviously can't use the old test.

Don't see why they couldn't. Chunin exam was based on how well you could analyze a situation a lead a team to success. Naruto is on par or surpassing hokage level strength but could he lead a team into enemy territory and make it back with his team intact?

He's certainly got the power to inspire, a fiercely protective attitude of comrades, and an unpredictable tactical sense.

Granted, none of these things ensure leadership ability, but he's probably got what it takes. Odds are he won't take a typical exam. I think after everything he's done since coming back to Konoha, he'll likely be field-promoted, or something similar.

I'm pretty sure saving your village from Pain should be more than enough to be Jounin, or at the very least Chunin. I always just went with that they kept him at Genin rank as a running gag in the series, like how Zoro in OP always gets lost. Think he got lost in that G8 filler going down a straight hallway.

Well as far as i know naruto and saucegay are the only two genin left from the prominent people in their ninja academy graduating class.

Test? Granted Naruto will be the reason the shinobi allied forces win this war against Tobi, a test would be a joke along with any concept of a Chunin exam. I think spearheading the greatest war in shinobi history counts as leadership ability.

Naruto's Hokage papers are already signed. Fuck, he could be king of the ninja world at this point and no one could say a peep. All he has to do is drop Tobi and Sauce and the world is Naruto's oyster.

Kabutomaru still has a huge bomb ticking away.

Kabutomaru told Tobi the only way to dispel Edo Tensai without killing the caster. No way Kabutomaru would have done that without it being in his plans for Tobi to actually use the dispel jutsu.

and on the opposite side of that coin, There is no way Tobi would actually trust Kabutomaru would give him a no strings attached way to dispel the most broken jutsu ever.

Naruto will most likely go from genin directly to hokage (if he doesn't decide to do something else). For the sake of the story, there's not really a point in him getting any other promotion.
