I never really quite understood how Tobi was able to control the Mizukage, can someone explain? I mean, if he can control someone of that stature I don't see why he isn't controlling Naruto or Bee
Bee has shown that because of his bond with the 8 tails, he's resistant to any mind control or illusion techniques, which I'd guess is how Tobi has the Mizukage under control.
Naruto on the other hand... eh... plot hole I guess. Wouldn't it be so much easier to just teleport in to his room and scoop him out of bed one night ?
They've said that the Mizukage had the same control over his tailed beast that B has (they touched on this during the kage conference).
I doubt he had controlled him simply by using the sharingan (wouldnt this show in the mizukage's eyes as well? tipping everyone off that something is fucked up?). It makes more sense if he just killed the Mizukage and had a zetsu clone take his place. Or Tobi used some crazy orochi type experimental drug on him or something. Either way it wasn't as simple as walking up and using his sharingan.
mm, you're right, I guess it could be anything then, and I'm doubtful that at this stage if we'll ever find out. Was it ever explained how the 3 tails ended up in the lake and hostless ?
Edit: http://www.mangareader.net/93-22827-...apter-459.html cites the Mizukage being controlled by illusionary means
Maybe it was just that simple. Think back to Itachi's first appearance, he hypnotized a woman in an effort to lure Jiraiya away from Naruto. Jiraiya himself may have been skilled at detecting genjutsu or sniffing out decoy actions, but it didn't seem like Sharingan use was blatantly apparent in the girl's hypnosis.
We know non-humans seem to take on the Sharingan on their manipulator, it may not be the same for hypnotized humans.
I was under the impression that Shisui eyes were "special" and one of a kind to be able to control people, Danzo had one and the other was taken by Itachi, in fact, even Tobi tried to take Shisui's eyes from Danzo cause he had a need for it... yet he was still able to could control a Mizukage?
Idk if it's relevant, but didn't Sauske recently do this to a Zetsu clone in the manga? I'm pretty sure his eyes were normal.

I wouldn't be surprised that with Infinite Tsukiyomi or however it was spelled that you can basically just torture someone via genjutsu until they're your puppet. I'm also of the mind a capable Uchiha can control any of the beasts, and Sasuke's shown that he can placate them in a jinchurichi's "inner world" as he did way back with Naruto. I dunno, to be honest, not much can be gained by thinking about it without more backstory. All we know was that the previous mizukage was some kind of tyrant, not doubt because of Madara.
I think the distinction lies with the type of control. When Danzo used Shisui's eye, it was a much more subtle control; everybody was still more or less in control of their consciences, but had all been gently pushed into the same thought pattern. If Danzo hadn't been outed, then chances are nobody would be any the wiser. Even Itachi seems to be more or less in control of his own actions (although it helps that the control he's under is pretty much his own agenda anyway).
Yagura on the other hand appeared to be completely detached from reality, and/or had no conscience thought, almost as if he was no more then a puppet under direct control. Much more akin to the Zetsu that Sasuke interrogated.
yeah, normal Sharingan mind control is like if someone shoved a puppet control rod up your ass and forced you to move around on strings.
Shisui's was more like someone whispering in your ear and you're brain would think it is its own idea and a very good one at that.
The snake that sasuke summoned to escape the giant bomb blast from whatshisface says otheerwise.
Why people are reading so much into this, idk. Chalk it up to plotkai and move on.
