Yeah, I just reread the chapter too. I edited my post, I think we're just over-thinking the combining of elements. I'm just going to go with Kekkei Genkai's being the combination 2 elements prior to jutsu release, mud being an earth element jutsu and just earth, and combining elements like fire and wind to make stronger fire just taking advantage of the elemental strengths and weaknesses, which has long since been practically abandoned since the Kakuzu fight.

Fire + wind = enhanced fire jutsu. The Base Element doesnt change, since the Wind element just makes the fire jutsu stronger
water + earth = enhanced earth jutsu. (in the form of mud).

This is the most logical explaination I had since ever for the kekkei genkais, ecxept for the Firsts Wood technique which is water and earth too (only?)

well, I guess Water and Earth combined make Wood. You need the genkai to actually combine them.
Using mud is just using a water technique and an earth one. Basically just spraying water on dirt to make mud and then controlling the wet dirt with the earth jutsu.
That's what I assume anyways.

Definitely a lot of over thinking in this thread. Go back and watch/read when Yamato is explaining the stuff to Naruto again. A Kekkai Genkai is taking two elements and fusing them together to make a brand new element. And any two elements can be fused. Any three as well. Mud is most likely just plain earth element, but if it does include water it's just being used like a combinational jutsu. (Like toad oil flame boolet.)

I just rewatched episode 140, the episode that coincides with that video there... I can`t believe they didn't use that footage. Instead they slapped in a couple still frames. Weak shit.

Well, in their defense, episode 140 was around 112 episodes ago and considering there are around 50 episodes a year, that was over 2 years ago that the episode aired. The clip posted is an extra anime clip featured in a game that only came out just recently, and on top of that, has no source manga to follow it up at all. They take liberties in that clip in guessing that that is how Kishimoto would have made the fight go (Of course, I have no idea whether or not Kishimoto collaborated with the game makers at all).

if course they can lol. but everyone who carries the sharingan has that ability. remember when kid naruto and sasuke fought? sas leveled up his eye and saw naruto's attacks before they occurred allowing him to block it this time. it wasn't that he got faster, the eye just gives you that ability lol. i don't think it can see into the future as far as "i wonder what the lottery numbers are gonna be" type of thing, though
