I liked the chapter. As much as Ive disliked sasuke for so damn long, this is the first chapter I didn't hate him. But itachi is carrying him.

I'm not going so far as to say Kishi had the 'huntin da boars' thing planned out all along, but Sasuke was.. what, 9 or 10 when Itachi brought Sharingan distribution to an all time high--er, murdered his clan?

It's not too unthinkable to see him going out with Itachi one day to do it, especially if you consider that Itachi was some crazy prodigy that was a Chuunin by what.. age 11? And it's been noted that Sasuke was some sort of prodigy himself.

Still, not sure how that conversation went.

Itachi is carrying the team, but I'm rather sure it's been said that Itachi had, by far, the most potential out of Konoha in ages. As much as he despised his brother, Sasuke can't help but follow the lead of his brother who was literally the inspiration for EVERYTHING he's done in the manga.

I think Sasuke is probably the most conflicted character I've ever read. For pretty much the first half of the series, you're convinced he loathes his brother with a passion, until all these fond memories they have together are brought to light, and after that, it's revealed to Sasuke that every act Itachi's perpetrated has been for Sasuke's sake, and finally, Sasuke un-represses the memory of the tears his brother shed the night he slaughtered the clan.

At this point, I don't think it was ever so much that he hated Itachi, it was more that he felt betrayed by him, which isn't exactly the same as an abiding hatred. Of course, once Sasuke learned that the betrayal was mostly a front to protect him--that the brother he adored wasn't all in his head--I think he was only too eager to embrace that fond regard once again.

Well I guess this kind of confirms that maybe Itachi can't regenerate atm, otherwise wouldn't need to use the clone to eat the attack.

Hard to say for sure, but given that people can place/activate seals in the ninja world merely by touch, there's no reason to risk his actual body coming into contact with anything if not needed. Letting yourself get hit by just whatever would probably ultimately lead to losing.

They've been adding some filler type shit into the normal episodes I think, I don't remember the animals getting as much time in the manga but this chapter was a few months ago so I cant remember exactly.

Yeah the animals part was definitely an additional thing, but when I watched the latest epi it showed the preview about some crap back in naruto's child years being the next epi coming up

When do we find out what happened to Yamato? I miss his antics and what not. Maybe he'll kill Zetsu! I only hope so since he's never been in a major fight since being introduced. Or is Zetsu dead and was killed by Sasuke before he came to the war? I can't remember if he was just eye hacked or is actually dead.

Real zetsu went to the place where the ninjas were keeping the lords of all their respective countries, then was never heard of again. That was probably close to a year ago now? It's a little ridiculous how all over the place Kishi is with everything...

Sasuke only fucked up a few zetsu clones, to test his new eyes. We still know nothing of Yamato except that he was absorbed by the tree that makes the zetsus. We are led to assume Anko is dead, at this point I'm assuming Yamato is dead too...
