Ah, that was a great chapter, it really made that wait worth it.

Hmmm, concerning speculation... here's some random thoughts: well I'm going to assume Madara has some odd method of staying alive. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being similar to Orochimaru's method, but only targeting people with Sharigan(also to prevent blindness). Perhaps that's why, if Tobi is Obito after all, he seems to be the same person. This could be the reason for Itachi to try to spare Sasuke. However, I could be totally off. I wouldn't be surprise if the final stage of the sharigan can manipulate reality itself. That's something I'm getting from Itachi's speech. Madara just wills himself to be alive and it is so. Tobi has been shown to use an incredible power where nothing seems to hurt him(or touch him even). Is this because he's always in illusion? Perhaps he can make things into illusion before they even touch his body? Maybe he's even a ghost or some kind, not completely connected to this world... maybe that's how Madara is still around and why he needs Sasuke, to become corporal.

I wonder if Pain's motives are the same as Madara or one of them are using another.

EDIT: I think there is a chance a member of Sasuke's group Suigetsu(the one with white hair) could be Sai's brother.

Hm... the whole thing being an illusion type deal with Madara would be interesting, but really out there lol. I'd think that Sasuke would have recognized that when he tried to slice him in half, but maybe that's part of the power of the final stage or whatever; the genjutsu takes form of complete reality while still remaining an undetectable illusion?

I thought at first maybe there needed to be at least three Uchiha/Sharingans that were needed to control the Kyuubi, since they emphasized three people capable of having Mangekyou. But then, if that were so, wouldn't it make sense to have not pissed off Sasuke when he was a kid so that he might cooperate? So I threw that idea out.


I also think Pain and Madara are just both batshit crazy, and they're the typical shonen ultimate evil bad guys that will eventually be killed off by a Spirit Bomb Rasengan.


And as far as Suigetsu and Sai, I thought the same after seeing the sketch book or whatever it is that Sai has. I hope the Suigetsu/Kisame battle is epic.

I think we need to wait longer, the full story of the reason he left 3 Sharingan users alive isn't known. There is a purpose to leaving Sasuke alive besides simply revenge, Itachi isn't stupid he wouldn't allow Sasuke to live without a reason. Anyway, I'm hoping next chapter we understand the full reason behind the plot. A Sasuke and Naruto teamup like some are suggesting would definitely be a total fanservice lol.

I don't think it'd be total fanservice. Naruto obviously has been trying to get Sasuke back since he left. Sasuke's just always been more obsessed with his brother than anything else, like Naruto. If it becomes apparent that Sasuke actually NEEDS Naruto, he'll quite possibly go back to Naruto for that purpose and then he'll rejoin team 7. Sasuke is still a good guy, you can tell that by the fact he told his new team not to kill if they could avoid doing so. I think that's an important detail to remember and what keeps Sasuke on the side of "good". Going on some assumption that Sasuke can mature a bit with his emotions regarding his brother and come to his senses a bit, I think it's logical that he'd choose to go back to Konoha for aid. I mean, why not enlist the aid of a nation if there's a bigger power standing at your #1 targets side? He can go back to Konoha to help in a huge battle and just ask to get Itachi 1 v 1 when it goes down.

The biggest issue currently with that theory is what would happen with Sasuke's team. Since he has his own team chances are he won't be going back to Konoha anytime soon. Most likely either his team will get killed or leave if he's going back to Konoha. The next year is supposedly heavily Sasuke so we'll probably see a lot of his team developing or crumbling.

I think Madara being an illusion itself, while a nice idea and I'm sure a creative writer could make sense of it, I just have to wonder how he'd ever be able to be defeated if he's all just an illusion and he has the power to control the Kyuubi. It just seems completely impossible for anyone (Naruto) to defeat him if that's the case.

Oh and who thinks Shikamaru is going to defeat Madara and end the entire manga as the biggest pimp in the Narutoverse?

Anyway, I enjoyed the manga, and I too thought that when I saw Suigetsu and the sketchbook. Just something about em looks familiar.

Also, the Naruto/Sasuke fight (the actual fight, not the zomg flashbacks) starts tonight with 132-133 I believe if anyone is interested. The voice acting during it has been amazing. To me, it's been almost Cowboy Bebop dub levels.

Rofl. Love Sonny Strait and the new One Piece FUNi cast.

Also, the animation is all hand-drawn by one person, the same guy that did the Hokage battle between the 1st, 2nd, Orochimaru and the 3rd. I love that fact. People always make fun of how silly it looks, because it does look funny in specific screen caps, but just how fluid it is... it's so great.

I haven't heard anything about this. o.o; Personally I'd rather watch filler. To me, it has more substance than Shippuuden (discounting like.. 2 good episodes that's been in Shippuuden >.>) Lol, but oh well. Naruto ends with the SasukexNaruto fight anyway in terms of the anime for me at least.
