Yeah, but nagi is something you do as you get hit, no? At least thats how I remember it. Use it after taking a fatal blow, be back to perfect health and a minute of invincibility. For anyone that doesn't have unlimited eyes, it would be trading your sight for staying alive.

Izanami is something you would use before you were definitly going to die, so while it seems like a 100% win if you can pull it off (we're still not sure how hard it is to do so), it is possible that you would be going blind for no reason at all.

Pointless speculation but it feels like Kishi is going in a direction where the nine tails is stripped out of Naruto leaving him near dead but alive due to his Uzumaki blood-line. Sasuke then takes his place as the lead protagonist until Naruto recovers after Itachi slaps some sense into him before he goes poof.

I've assumed from day 1 that Naruto would lose the fox for at least awhile. Gotta have the 10 tails around for endgame. Idk why Sasuke becoming the main protagonist never hit me though. I've figured he could be good and team up with Naruto, or stay an evil bitch till the end, but replacing Naruto while he's injured never crossed my mind for some reason. Could be interesting, Sasuke was always way cooler when he wasn't being a bitch.

I dunno about Naruto losing the fox, it was implied when Tobi stole the urns holding Kin and Gin that he could get away with just using a portion of each beasts chakra, which he now has. This way we'll still get a 10-tails, and Naruto/Bee don't have to die. Not even Kushina survived an extraction, and she was classed as having exceptional pedigree Uzumaki chakra, it's never really been mentioned whether or not Naruto takes after her in that regard, all we really know is that he's a massive chakra tank.

Kushina definitely survived the extraction. We don't know if she would have died from it later or not, as the 9tails impaled her soon after. But definitely wasn't the extraction that killed her lol.

I worded that poorly. You're right, it was the impalement that dealt the killer blow.

Tobi commended her on not dying straight away, but that she was on borrowed time at that point. She'd accepted her death too, telling Minato that he'd have to raise Naruto without her. Of course we can't say for sure that she'd have died, but signs point to yes.

haha, it raises a good point though about people using izanagi against eachother though. I never even thought of that. I'm guessing 2-3 more chapters of this fight. Next one will end with kabuto breaking out of izanami and possibly sealing off itachi or something.

Yeah, the only problem with it is that it can evolve into better eyes all the time. If it was like the byakugan and only had one form, then I'm sure it would be used the same way. Pulled out by a random fodder ninja every 50 chapters or so just for the sake of mentioning it lol.
