Hey this just occurred to me.

Didn't the Nidaime know the Edo Tensei? So why didn't he break the Jutsu and go rogue Madara style when Orochimaru summoned him?

Didn't Oro just wipe his willpower/personality out before letting him get started or something? Not too sure on that one.

I could see Tobi and Madara ending up taking each other down, considering Madara's probably going to be pissed that Tobi stole his idea and left him to rot. Madara said perfect susanoo could beat down tailed beasts, might be a good match for the juubi.

Why do so many people think Tobi betrayed Madara or something? His plans were never complete, he was still most likely going to try and revive him.

Probably because when he outlined his plan there was no mention of Madara being revived at all- mostly because he was still posing as him at the time. Also we don't know if Tobi even could revive anybody; he didn't know how to Edo Tensei before Kabuto showed him, and we don't know the extent of the Rinnegan's resurrection capabilities, either it couldn't bring back Jiraiya, or Nagato simply wouldn't, who knows. Those resurrected in the rubble of Konoha just simply woke up- I guess if he'd done that to Jiraiya he'd have woken up at the bottom of the sea with one arm and a crushed throat lol.

Also, if Tobi's Moons Eye plan turned out successfully, would there be any reason to revive Madara ? The whole world would have been stuck in a Matrix like dream world where nothing is real - unless he wanted to revive him there.

Tobi said straight up that he wanted to use Nagato's mass res ability for his own reasons. Obviously he wanted to revive somebody. Madara being the recipient of that makes sense.

I actually think he said he wanted to use it on himself, and since he was calling himself madara still, we took it as that. Obviously, it means something else though...

Thats the thing about Tobi lol. Dude has lied constantly. No reason for anyone to think we know exactly what he's doing or assume one way or the other. The only thing we know about him for sure is that he has some kind of connection to Madara.

Remember Madara thought he was also revived by Pain before he found out about the ET.

So, apparently Madara unlocks Rinnegan before dying. Tobi implies he gave Pain the Rinnegan, which could mean he gave Pain Madara's eyes. It still doesn't quite solve who Tobi is, and if Pain did have Madara's eyes, does it mean Rinnegan eyes no longer need to Sharingan once tapped into? I dunno, I can see why some might lean toward Madara's brother, but I'm still wary on the age side of that theory. It doesn't eliminate my "first Orochimaru" thought since he would've been in the Rain to have found a suitable candidate in an Uzumaki. Only thing that's vague is if Madara would've been still alive at this point or if his eyes were sitting in a jar. Though, the fact he knew about Pain would imply he'd perhaps been alive a bit post-possible swap.
