Whoever it is, suigetsu mentions that the person with what ever it is could rule the ninja world with it. It doesn't sound like a technique though, so I'm banking on either Sage of the 6 Paths, resurrected by some means other then edo tensei, and the sage telling Sasuke about the relationship between his two sons.

Despite all the confusion, I felt bad for Kabuto. Poor guy worked pretty hard to become the biggest baddy in the world bar edo-madara, only to stand there like a mug and get drained of bodily tissue and chakra. Orochimaru didnt seem to even acknowledge him despite Kabuto apparently seeing him as a parental figure and missing him or whatever freaky relationship he had.

The impression I get is that his Sage mode has only been deactivated, not removed though hasnt it? Unless he required Oro's cells in order to use it.

One thing I wasn't sure of was whether Kabuto's awake? He seemed to open his eyes in the chapter, but I wasnt sure whether he already had them open and was just spaced from illusions.

I'm surprised characters such as Oro are being introduced now, it seemed like things were winding down and we'd only have another 30-50ish chapters to go in my expectations.

his eyes have always been opened (glazed tho) but yeah poor kabuto just not his day to rule the world pinky

Oro looked at Kabuto and, from what I gathered, he looked about as sad as a guy like Oro can look. Remember, he was there for all of Kabuto's speech to Itachi, he was there for Kabuto doing his mass edo tensei, so he knows how strong Kabuto became and how far he advanced some of Oro's work. Hell, I'd be surprised if Kishi doesn't include a panel somewhere about how Oro is surprised/proud that Kabuto hit sage mode. I might be wrong, but I just don't see the same crazed and malicious Oro in the expressions from this chapter. It may just be that Kishi's style has changed since then, but I doubt that its that simple. Oro did die, after all; perhaps he gained a slight bit more perspective on life itself.

Edit: You also have to consider that Kabuto isn't dead. Itachi gave him an outlet if he can manage to figure it out, and all Oro did to him was take his chakra back from him, essentially "freeing" Kabuto if he can solve the mystery of Itachi's genjutsu. Remember the conditions of the release: if Kabuto does get out, he'll most likely be a changed man, and with the lack of Oro's chakra influencing him, hopefully his obsession will be gone and he'll stand on his own two feet for the first time in most of his life.

Orochimaru stopped being the typical villain a while ago, for me. It was probably during that flashback of his childhood, where he stood with Hiruzen at his parents' graves and noticed the white snake's skin. After that, he kind of became this crazy kid who was just hoping to be reunited with his parents one day.

This Orochimaru is probably a much younger version of himself. Assuming this version is as old as the cursed seal on Anko, Anko has had that seal since before the series started.

He is more a chakra beast than ninja at this point. Otherwise explaining the lack of host/body well...
Even if its a younger version; still knows everything after he died thanks to anko.

You don't have the power he has at his fingertips to not only do it, but to get away with it, plus your entire family and all related families weren't slaughtered by what you originally thought was the callous action of a sadistic older brother, later finding out it was your hometown who commenced the deed. Throw in some persecution (just or unjust), a rebellion, and a bunch of other shit into a 15-year-old's head, set it to blend, and yeah, you'd get some kind of crazy shit.

Plus, it'd be a boring regular series if someone didn't flip out at some point.

I like that he's starting to get his head round things now considering how wrong his original thought process was post-Itachi revelation, but seriously how many people is it going to take reciting the same set of events with some slight improvements each time before he realises how stupid it is to shit all over Itachi's goals in the name of Itachi.
