Honestly, I'm underwhelmed. Not just because you could see this coming from a mile away or the impending flashback that will occur during the next chapter but for the ease it took to get hit. Assuming Kakashi's eye was "bleeding" as it depicted, he's only got 1 of these left with issues and 1 more after that will kill him like before.

I'm 100% convinced we won't learn who Tobi is next week.

They'll jump to the Kage fight, then Sasuke. Then Tobi flashbacks that will reveal nothing at all (except for maybe how he met Madara - fully clothed with mask of course) I'm sure we won't learn who Tobi is until next year at this rate... He would never throw a treat that delicious without dragging it out as long as possible.

Hell, maybe heäll even retreat from battle and get a new mask instead of revealing who he is.

Pretty sure Kishi said in an interview we'd find out who Tobi was in august (read on some other forum somewhere, don't remember the source tbh), so people were anticipating a reveal this issue or next.

"Next couple of weeks" could be much longer than August. Hell, "Next couple of weeks" could mean over 10 weeks for all we know. It doesn't say "in August", nor does it mean next chapter will reveal his identity. All we know is that it will probably be before the end of the year.

Assuming the interview was beginning of July, it's 12 weeks from interview to beginning of October. Assuming end of July, 8 weeks until beginning of October, or roughly 4 weeks from interview until now. I'd give it at least another 6 weeks, making the reveal first week of October.

Like someone said earlier, it's possible the reveal will be in chapter 600, though, so maybe in 2 weeks which is first week of September. Either way, it's unlikely it'll be in next chapter.

There's a few possibilities:
1)Chapter 600
2)Issue 43 (25th of September or October 23rd? dunno, this issue is 38, but it's week 34...) of Weekly Shonen Jump as that's the first issue Naruto appeared in.
3)First week of October, as that's exactly 13 years ago since Naruto was first released.

My money's on first week of October.

I almost want to say its possible simply because he's able to keep spamming kamui over and over again, but then I think back to him fighting Yondi and he can't be Obito because he was a grown man fighting the 4th, and had the eye at that point. That also means he'd have to have been strong enough prior to that fight to actually awaken Obito's mangekyou, and there's no way Obito would have flipped out, turned on the village, and somehow gained enough power as a kid to Mangekyou-unlock his Kamui in such a short span of time.

Now what could have happened is either Tobi manipulated circumstances to either make Obito go on that mission and/or to die during it so that he could get his hands on Obito's special eyes. To do that, he'd have had to have known about Obito's family history and potential and all of that (and that was long before Itachi contacted him).

Whoever he is, he has a deep knowledge of not only jutsu and history, but also the histories of multiple families in multiple countries; it would be a fair assumption that, since he was so obsessed with the moon's eye plan and the sage of 6 paths, he had knowledge of anyone who had any Uzumaki, Senju or Uchiha blood in them, and actively took steps to manipulate the fates of the youth in those families to produce the exact amounts of each bloodline talents that he wanted. He manipulated Nagato's childhood to get his hands on an eventual rinnegan, manipulated Obito's childhood to get his hands on the kamui (entirely needed to keep himself alive in fights, and for rapid transportation), and manipulated Sasuke and Itachi's childhoods for obvious reasons.

Its possible that this guy has had this plan for over a century, and has been working to realize it for just as long. This motherfucker is the Lavos of The Naruto Universe. Yes. I said it.
