Its possible. Zetsu flesh is infused with Shodai goodness, which grants absurd amounts of chakra. With half your body composed of Senjuu flesh and an omni-genius as a teacher, its possible to learn your mangekyou quickly. If we find out that the Zetsu flesh bonded with Obito's flesh and allowed him to rapidly age to his "prime", then it all makes (a very - almost too convenient) sense.

What's crazy to me is that Madara was able to not only train Obito so quickly, but explain to him everything that needed to happen, in such a short time. His plan, the weakness of just about everyone, his own eye abilities, the "truth" of Uchiha, the nature of what was known about Jinchurikis, ect.

I doubt even Madara has access to Obito's dimension, so its not like he could rip him into the dimension and train him there for 10 years like the hyperbolic time chamber or something, but who knows. Perhaps it is possible.

Exactly. All he needed to do was poke him in the forehead to make him capable enough to fight toe to toe with a kage.

Yeah, he tossed them in there to rest up because they were in the middle of a battlefield. His "other dimension" doesn't stop time, never has it been alluded that it does. It's pretty obvious that Obito has some zetsu in him, whatever "zetsu" is, and whatever that is will explain the rapid power up and the aging (assuming madara wasn't that one who attacked the village with the 9 tails).

He was phasing in and out against Minato so it's pretty conclusive that it was Obito, unless Madara's mangekyou downloaded that app too.

Hmm.. you know, I still hesitate to say he fought 'toe to toe' with Minato. I mean when it comes down to it, Minato faked him out, cut his link to the Kyuubi, made sure he couldn't control it again, and blasted the fuck out of him with a Rasengan.

I mean he definitely wasn't Ninja Extra #204 against him, and it's certainly a significant power up from his days as a fail Uchiha, but yeah.

Having a strong enough Sharingan to control the Kyuubi and being able to infiltrate a barrier maintained by top level ANBU is pretty impressive. And Minato was convinced that he was enough of a threat that Naruto would need the Kyuubi in the future. He assumed that Tobi was Madara, but that was because of the experience of having to deal with him.

Minato won but that's because Minato was one of the strongest ninja of his generation with sky high potential. I don't know if anyone else can beat Kamui; Minato had a hard counter with his Thunder God Speed.
