Edit: I enjoyed the chapter though. Training montage/flashbacks inside the flashback actually weren't horrible. And seeing Zetsus and his original mask were cool. Looks like he copied his Tobi personality from the zetsus lol.

Its not the best explanation I agree. But we need to remember that Madara and Obito think they are good guys. They wanna give everyone eternal happiness and let them reuinite with their dead loved ones (which is obviously the selling point for Obito next chapter). He's probably killing people thinking w/e, noones gonna be sad once the plan works anyway.

This does explain everything, the only reason people feel like it doesn't is because we have no benchmark to describe how long it was from Obito "dying", to the attack on the village and the 4th dying. With out that knowledge we have no idea if it's one year, five years, or twenty. This explains it well enough, and wasn't a useless chapter.

The only prominent members of the Mist we know of are Zabuza and Kisame right? Would be awesome to see them tie that in there somehow.
