Naruto has a demon of pure chakra residing within him, has been the disciple of multiple legendary ninjas, a hax jutsu to shorten a decades worth of training into days, and an impeccable blood-line. Naruto represents absolutely nothing Kishi has made this manga out to be as far as the hard work over talent bit. The only real reocurring theme is the passing of torch to the next generation.

Naruto has come into his own across the course of the manga through the hard work of first being Jmans apprentice then mastering sage mode and finally befriending the 9tails now able to directly tap the limitless chakra reserves that comes with that. Sauce relied on his natural talents and that has carried him far but if it weren't for Itachi he'd still be flailing around in the dark, blinded by too much Sharingan spam.

A similar story is told through Jiraiya and Orochimaru and to a lesser extent with Guy and Kakashi.

I always thought what Kishi was trying to get across to his audience was that everyone has their own "9 tails" (limitless potential) inside of them which if harnessed through hard work can become a powerful ally against the challenges of life. You may not be fighting against nihilistic children of war or a bitter Uchiha God but you get the point.

The thing is though that he wouldn't have succeeded in any of those things if it were not for his natural talents. Shit, his dad put the 9tailed fox in him because he just knew he was destined for greatness lol.

I think the only thing they've stuck to throughout the series is the power of friendship.

Even passing on the torch to the next generation is fucked since some dude from 100+ years ago came back and whooped the shit out of the 5 kages at once.

Plus I totally meant Naruto's power of friendship, since they make a point of saying how good he is with it lol

When was that ever implied? All we know is that the scroll Suigetsu found was capable of turning the war into Sasuke's favour via some sort of speculated power-up.

Yeah, it's pretty safe it's going to be something that turns the tide of the battle.
I doubt Sasuke's gonna show up in the middle of the fight and come prancing in yelling about how the man who knows everything gave him a recipe for lemon cakes.

That chapter right? Where Oro says he has no interest in the war and it's implied that the scroll isn't even a power-up, but for a chance for Sasuke to meet people who can explain everything about the Uchiha from the beginning of their history. That's the chapter that apparently has Orochimaru showing up in the war with a way to defeat the Juubi and stop Madara and become a hero and redeem himself?

...what the fuck do you guys smoke when you read these chapters?

...and that scroll is the one Sasuke is holding, showing Orochimaru, who tells him, in the picture from the chapter I posted, "What do you want to meet them for?" I'm not jumping to conclusions, I came to those conclusions when the chapter came out so long ago
