I was just watching the Zabuza fight the other day and thought about how back in the day we watched him learn to climb trees, walk on water, etc, and now kamehameha. Come a long way.

Lol handseals, lol ninja tool bag, lol chakra limits, lol soldier pills, lol kunais and other weapons.
Eh, I dunno about that. One Piece has been all about pursuing your dreams and being the bestest and most loyal of friends while having a noble soul. And Bleach... well... I dunno. Bleach is all sorts of terribad now but it was really popular in it's hay day. I can't speak for Toriko (Bleach's apparent replacement in the big 3), as I've never read it.
If anything, the successful Shonen model would be big fights between young'ish people taking down older bad people with terrible thoughts for humanity, mixed in with lots of friendship and doing the right thing, lots of comedy and drama, and just having a very strong theme or message. Naruto definitely has this message, young people breaking the cycle of the old and taking the future into their own hands which is pretty much exactly what Kuronosan described.
I dunno why people are surprised by it. It's been an on-going theme throughout the series. That old puppet-lady Chiyo pretty much spelled it out bluntly while she died. And looking back, the only Ninja who hasn't been caught in this love triangle cycle was Minato, which should only cement how awesome he is!
Not saying you're wrong, just going into more detail I guess lol.
It wasn't her grandmother, just another lady from the Uzumaki clan. And I wouldn't doubt if she got involved and this became another love triangle.Originally Posted by Abandon

That's what's gonna happen to Naru/Saku/Sasu... I mean, that's what's gonna happen to Kaka/Rin/Obito.... err... I mean, that's what's gonna happen to Jiraiya/Tsuna/Oro.... umm... no, I mean, that's what's gonna happen between Hashirama/Mito/Madara! Yeah, that one.
Bleach teaches you that having multiracial heritage makes you the bestest in the world.
Kubo's a real American.
The trio repeats itself in generations but there are some subversions in it along the way. Kakashi and Obito switch places; Kakashi started out as the loner but becomes the one who treasures the village and his allies, whereas Obito becomes the one focused on power. We never see that Tsunade had any interest in Orochimaru and she ends up being the Hokage rather than the good boy.
Well yeah, they're not identical, but the general structure is the same
Yeah, but that's details. If they weren't changing that would be even more boring.
Imagine your parents summoning the 1000 hand god mode to beat your ass.
you know what this recollection of past events inside of this flashback needs? An old man telling the young hashirama a story from his own childhood that his parents told him about the sage of six paths.
The thousand hand technique reminded me a lot of Hunter x Hunter.
HxH manga spoiler
Spoiler: show
You know what would be cool and totally solidify Naruto being awesome? If Minato taught him, or at least got him started on learning, the flying thundergod technique. He needs to learn some new ninja techniques.
Might as well make it full blown DBZ and have him teleporting all over the place chucking plasma.
I was thinking he wouldn't be proficient enough with it to use it in high level battle, but still able to use it by himself to travel between people or locations. Maybe like a wandering sage of six paths.
