The back story was nice, but would have been better after the series as a mini series expanding on how this all started, giving us even more detail then this on how it all began. Seeing a senju/uchiha gaiden miniseries would be cool, but instead we get this crap.
Both Madara and Hashirama's bro suck dick.
Actually Tobiramas proposal for a democraty was not a fuck you move. Hashirama got elected and not Madara as Hokage. Thats how it should be. Tobirama was right to correct his dickhead Brother of Hashirama, who just wanted to push Madara as the Hokage without listening to the will of the people in the village.
And if Madara wouldnt be such a dickhead as he is, he would have understood it.
Correct.
If you want to create a world based solely on your ideals: Become a dictator and rule with superior DNA.
Not much different than what Nagato, Obito, Danzo or Madara have put forth as solutions. The world is bogged down in politics, bloodshed, power grabs and bitter rivalries and so the solution is rule above all thaat with a powerful genjutsu spell or to point tailed beasts at all the villages and threaten to use them if anyone gets outta line.
Naruto will break the cycle through the power of friendship and the villages trusting him to be a benevolent overlord but at the end of the day he's still an overlord. Or he'll fly off Goku style and leave the world to fend for itself. Probably the latter.
Now now, we know that dear Hashirama had the best of intentions by installing Madara (his dear friend no less) as leader of the village but what Hashirama was saying when he made that decision was that he knew better than everyone else in the village and the smaller clans under that banner. I mean shit, its not like Madara was anywhere near as politically inclined as Hashirama was (even though Hashirama himself is more a visionary than a politician) and Tobirama seemed much more suited to the nuances of politics needed to interact with the other villages in a diplomatic manner thus bringing stability.
Could anyone see Madara at a Kage summit? He's barely able to keep his emotions level and we want this guy ruling over a ninja village? He's liable to go full Susanoo the minute things don't go his way. Tobirama is absolutely correct - the Uchiha are a fucking powderkeg of a clan ready to overreact at a moments notice and his observation was proven the minute he got denied the job and decided to bathe the world in an Infinite Tsukiyomi.
The last time someone got denied the Hokage job and flipped out this hard it was Orochimaru after he got snubbed. Imagine that, Orochimaru as leader of Konoha. It's like these guys forget being the Hokage means politics up to your eyeballs. lol
Also random question:
Has it ever been explained how Madara started his living clone of Hashirama after losing that battle? He acquired DNA then what? Took a course at the Learning Annex on how to do complex ninja science? At least Danzo had Orochimaru as an excuse for how he got a Sharingarm.
The idea itself isn't a fuck you move but Tobirama clearly brought it up because he didn't want Madara to be in charge. If Hashirama told him he was going to be in charge do you think he'd have still been so passionate about it? Tobirama is clearly a dick perpetuating everything Hashirama is trying to end.
Madara was fucked up, sure. That doesnt mean the rest of his clan was. They didn't plan a coup until after Tobirama took over and treated them like shit. Right now in the story, they told Madara to get the fuck out because they want to follow Hashirama and be part of the village.
I'm picturing Madara summoning Susano'o, and said Susano'o flipping a table.Could anyone see Madara at a Kage summit? He's barely able to keep his emotions level and we want this guy ruling over a ninja village? He's liable to go full Susanoo the minute things don't go his way. Tobirama is absolutely correct
that might be true, but Tobirama rather brought it up as an election of democraty, which showed whom the villagers trusted and wanted as hokage. It is perfectly fine that Tobirama brought it up, he may not like Madara, but letting his brother Hashirama just push someone infront of the Villagers they dont want would have been the worse scenario for an upcomeing, newly founded village.
And the reaction of Madara to that just showed that he was indeed never capable of pulling the job off, instead of understanding the situation. So to me the only big dickhead here is Madara and noone else.
the only gripe you can have is maybe that they didnt discuss this upfront with Madara. But even then, the Election showed that the people (even the Uchiha clan) wanted Hashirama as a Hokage, which Madara wasnt able to handle at all.
I think the giant head in the mountain pushed him over the edge.. I always thought the people did it as something to honor the Hokage, not that they decided to do it >.>
Mountainface Hokage is watching you--
Nah, too easy.
Kind of irritated they are turning Madara from some badass evil motherfucker into some poor misunderstood confused soul simply trying to do right. They did it to Tobi and Pain too. :/
Don't forget Danzo, he did it all for the village. What a bastard.
This series has very few 'absolute monster' antagonists - the ones that come to mind are Hidan/Kakazu - as even peeps like Orochimaru, Kabuto, Gaara and even Kisame have been written in a sympathetic light.
