i'm wondering whether madara and obito are going to be able to talk no jutsu sasuke into changing his mind, but then considering basically everything that's gone wrong in his life is their fault that would be kinda difficult.

Kakuzu was much older than he appeared, having been one dispatched by his village to assassinate Shodai Hokage. Unfortunately Shodai's Mokuton got the better of Kakuzu, and he returned having failed in his mission. Dispite the challenging nature of his mission, he was stigmatized and punished by his village for the failure. After escaping his imprisonment, he took and used the village's ultimate Kinjutsu Jiongu, which extended his life by withdrawing the hearts of his opponents. He made use of this ability by taking the hearts of the village leaders and leaving his former comrades behind.

Don't think it's a retcon, you are probably misremembering this. All I remember him saying is that he was as old as the first and faught him, never that he beat him or took his heart.

The minute Hashirama takes the field, he'll go giddy like a schoolgirl about his plan, about Tobi, about cheating death and how he'll crush the Leaf and bathe the world in an Infinite Tsukiyomi. This guy has monologue-gasms just talking about his BFF, wait till he gets the chance to show off his spiffy new Rinnegans and Zetsu army courtesy of that little fight at the valley of the end. The chance to demoralize Hashirama is just too great to pass up. Oh and I guess he could also throw bisecting his granddaughter into the mix along with trashcanning the Kages if he really wants to aim for low blows.

Also, where is the incoming Sasuke powerup going to come from? EMS alone isn't going to cut it against Rinnegans, Bijuus and meteors falling from the sky from invincible targets when he was getting his shit kicked by the Raikage and a not-serious Bee. I mean Danzo was good but Danzo doesn't compare to any of these targets.

If anything, the audience gets to see something neat cause Sauces fights are usually the best. I loved Oros joking after Karin showed up. Why does everyone become so entertaining after dying?

He's talking to Senju DNA and probably the world's best scientific researcher is standing right next to him. Wouldn't be that much of a stretch, but I agree that it probably won't happen.
