All I really know is to dress nice and show up early. My argument isn't much more than I didn't do it and the cop was rather rude. . .
Any suggestions?

The cop pulled me over in a 30 mph zone saying I was going 80 mph a while back. I told him I didn't remember going so fast and he scoffed and walked away to write the ticket.
He ended up bumping it down to 70 in a 55 so he could 'save me some money.' Lame, since it will cost the same.
Well 70 in a 55 is much better than 80 in a 30, lmao.
from 50 over to 15 over... yeah thats nice. of him.

um, all kidding aside (from someone who's been "written" 35+ speeding tickets in his life), you really are fucked. They don't "deal" on tickets that high, at least not with you directly.
Showing up for court is better than not, it will save you a little in fines and maybe a point if you are dressed nice and white.
You have the option of just calling a lawyer and asking if your ticket can be reduced, tell him the whole truth so he knows what the officer likely knows. If the lawyer says it can be reduced they will charge you like $200 and make it a speedometer malfunction (I've done that about 30 times), and you'll have to pay the lawyer like $100 too.
Just be warned, 25+ over can be ungodly bad. I got pulled over doing 97 in a 70 and it happened to be in a hick area where the judge was a cocksucker, took 4 trips to court, $900 in fines/fees, and 2 years probation. All depends on the judge.
Sorry, wasn't clear enough.
The ticket is 70 in a 55, 15 over. He pulled me over after the road downgraded from 55 to 30 which is why I'm contesting it in the first place.
<-- 3 years and no ticket.
you could ask to see the ticket the radar prints and check the last time they calibrated the radar. They're required to calibrate it every once in a while. On the off chance they never calibrated it on time... you're off the hook.
Either that or just be like "I peed myself I was trying to go home and change" then maybe they'll feel sorry for you
First of all, going 15 miles over the speed limit compared to 50 is not the same fine lol. Probably the difference of 100-200 dollars, and a suspended license, so you're lucky there.
Secondly, really you're only shot is hoping the cop doesn't show up.
If he does just suck it up and pay.
You're going to get pulled over going to school tommorow, grats.Originally Posted by Ohemgee

The ticket was never about me in a 30mph zone, that's only where he pulled me over. The difference between 25 over and 15 over is hardly anything in my experience.
If he pulled you over in the 35 zone, then you are subject to that.
Like if you are driving in one state and going 70 in a 65, then cross into the next state and its all of a sudden 55, and theres a cop there, he could pull you over for 15 miles over the speed limit.. if you follow me there.
There are "speeding ticket" lawyer services in just about every state. Phone them up and ask them, they're better legal advice than lolBG.
My advice: you got caught going way too fast, pay your ticket and moderate your speed in the future.
I go to court for an 88mph in a 70mph next Tuesday... no idea what I'm going to say/do. I just hope they pity me enough to cut off any amount of money; I'll consider that a victory.
