    Skillchain damage resists.

Are there any known factors as to why/how skillchain damage is resisted, other than level vs. level, or element vs. elemental resist? It has always bothered me when I play my blu to see SC damage resisted to 1/4 or less on the majority of self SCs, and I have always been curious if int or generic magic accuracy+ from gears could be a factor.

I was pretty sure it was established before that because skillchain damage is considered magical, magic accuracy will help cut down on resists. Part of the reason why Abyss Cape for DRK is considered "good", or something.

INT/MND/etc probably doesn't effect resist rate.

Could be purely coincidental, but SA WS always seemed to have more consitent SC dmg, especially the higher the dmg was. I've seen a hell of alot of full dmg SCs from SA Spinning Slash and Steel Cyclone in exp compared to not very many from stuff like Blade: Jin and rampage, and I've done far more of the latter.

Spinning Slash and Steel Cyclone create light and dark skillchains though, which seem to have different potency than the lvl2 skillchains created by Jin and Rampage. For instance, low level mobs often take full damage from skillchain damage with light and darkness (i.e. 1000 ws damage + 1000 light/dark damage), whereas on the same low level mob I often see half skillchain damage and not full as you do with lvl3 sc's (i.e. 1000 ws damage + only ~500 distortion/scission/fusion).

I've never seen a correlation between Abyss Cape and skillchain damage resistance. Besides Mg Acc+7 is just way too hard to test on something as random as skillchain damage =/. My skillchains still get resisted with the cape on or off.

In general Lv 1, 2, 3 have different soft caps for skillchain damage. I think it realli all comes to down to a mobs natural resistance toward the skillchain elemental properties.

considering SC dmg is affected by MaB, I wouldn't be surprised at all if SC dmg was affected by Magic Acc / int.

Are you sure about that? I know elemental staffs have increased potency on closing SC, but I had heard they are uneffected by MAB. I suppose I could try macroing moldy earring into my blu skillchains, and see if I ever get damage higher than the closer.

EDIT: I just went out and tried magic attack bonus trait and moldy earring on blu against lesser colibri. I got the same 1:1 damage ratio from closer to SC damage from both distortion and light, with or without the +25MAB

It's not. I remember posting m.atk affected SC dmg a while back in a thread (probably why you think that), but I corrected it a few days later after doing more testing.

First time I tested, I went outside whitegate and tested on collibri for 2 WS and 2 without. Both without m.atk did 1:1, and both with novio/moldavite did 20-25bonus dmg. I assumed it was working, but said I would test again on a different mobs with different sc to be certain.

Turn out I got 1:1 dmg every times after, so it was probably just the day bonus proc'ing at the wrong times on my first test.

On topic, how elemental resistence works against spell? I'm pretty sure those works against skillchain, otherwise, you wouldnt notice a difference between skillchain element and resist.

Another question, does it matter what your skill level is. lv10dagger can land 100% skillchain just like a lv 300dagger?

In my expierience with solo SC on blu, SC element doesn't make a noticable difference in resist rate, however higher level SCs are more likely to go unresisted. For example. I see distortion resisted alot more often by imps (dark based) than level 3 darkness. You would also figure distortion would have high accuracy on flies (weak to ice), but they resist it just as much as other similarly leveled merit mobs.
