Honestly though, this relatively minor paralyze discussion is the only thing I have ever seen like this. Yes, there is other misinformation that is being corrected at the exact rate that people actually edit shit, as opposed to complain about it.

On this note, I find it fucking hillarious that FFXIClopedia is asking people to donate $12,000 for their server fees. That's ridiculous, and anyone who has any knowledge in this field would know that they don't need anywhere near that amount of money to pay server bills for a year.

lol no, it's professional hosting, 55GB of storage in that package, 55 domain pointers, all the good shit. It's just not a dedicated server, but it's excellent.

I'm a sysadmin for several dedicated servers used for various things (Web, one's like a BF two thousand whatever server, another is for RO) and 600GB of traffic is nothing. ~2000 USD is enough to pay for a very good box with more than a terabyte of bandwidth/month. For an entire year. And that estimate is being very, very generous.

Edit: It should be noted on their campaign page that they're asking for 12,000 USD to pay for just a year of hosting. Anyone who doesn't find that ridiculous is insane. Hell, my fucking Dreamhost account has 2TB of traffic and it cost me $24 for an entire year.
