    HP 7850 Photosmart printer help

I usually can figure shit like this out on my own but this has been bugging the piss out of me for the past week. Whenever I try to print pictures on my HP Photosmart 7850, they come out with only red and lines all over the picture. I ran the cartridge cleaner, checked my ink levels, and nothing fixes this. The computer says both cartridges are half full but could they be wrong? I just don't want to waste $40 on a new cartridge if I'm just a moron and forgetting some simple step.

Sorry, this issue is outside my normal support boundaries. Please contact your printer manufacturer.

How so? I've had a handful of HP home printers and never had any problems with them, plus they're always rated extremely high in consumer magazines/etc.

As far as your problem have you tried using the HP software to clean printer heads and align them?

If so then yes it's a hardware problem.

As far as lolhp goes, it seems that in the past say 3 years their products have gone down hill extremely with products like epson and cannon creating a far superior print product, at least for photo quality printers.

Word to the wise, if you're looking to purchase a new photo printer read camera boards, they'll give you a much larger spectrum about printers,

http://www.dpreview.com is one of the best as far for digital photography and digital printing.

HP suggests trying to clean the contacts on the cartridges as well. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/solv ... 1&lang=en#

Though honestly, it's a modern, consumer grade inkjet. In other words, it's a shell designed to sell you overpriced ink or another printer.

IMO, save your money and buy a laser printer or at least something designed to last more than 6 months.
