Magic menu stun is the way to go.. macro's don't seem to work as well for me.. I don't understand why people have a problem w/ jorm's blizzaga III.. I wasn't stunning on the 6 man jorm but typically when we go with 12 I dual box a blm.. and i've stunned it before as blm sub whm with no fast cast... it's really not hard. Setup your filters.. and i also suggest you get rid of animation effects.. esp ballad and what not.. it really tends to lag out slower computers.
In my experience, she takes long enough to cast Blizzaga that you can wait for the text to confirm it. If you're hasted and have enough Fast Cast on though, just go for the animation, because she won't cast until after your spell timer is up.
Once she gets below 20~25% though, she gains fast cast, and casts almost twice as often. I was about 90% for most of the fight, and once she dropped below 20~25%, my stun rate dropped dramatically, but the RDM toon I was playing isn't very well-geared, so a better RDM (with more Fast Cast) should be able to handle it without a problem.
The casting of Blizzaga III is the fastest of the 3 Wyrms. I say that though but Vrtra doesnt rly have any spell like that, all the stuff he casts has short timers anyway so meh.
Im not a RDM... But the RDM's in my linkshell have gotten rly good with this over time. We dont kill him the instant he pops everytime but we have downed him several times just for fun, 15 times now I think. It's a rly fast cast time though, especially if you compare it to say, Tiamat's Firaga III.
I see you have DRK lvled, Do you have a Kraken or a Ridill ?..? That can make the fight go alot faster ^-^
Nothing like spending top dollar on a card that chugs during bard and fire spells. Fucking SE.Originally Posted by psnsonixx

Same here... hella if I see Firaga go off in a crowd, freezes up hella fast on my ATi.Originally Posted by inafume

GROUNDBREAKING CONCEPT, THIS IS TRUE.
gl on your 6 man Jorm.
Ah, I thought it was just nvidia, my mistake. I was extremely frusterated to get rid of my really old ATI 9700 and upgrade to a geforce 7800gt.... and get noticably worse performance during spell effects in this game.Originally Posted by Sho

Recorded it all on video, I'll post it later. 12 people, took us nearly four hours but it wasn't really that hard. No relics or anything outrageous, and no outside help whatsoever.
A couple sleeps though unfortunately. We were going for the no-sleep challenge but we had to sleep it a few times, one sleep early on when we had literally SIX adds on us at once. Another was at like 17% because I went down to Gregale Wing followed immediately by Blizzaga, and another sleep was because our main stunner decided he needed to go pee.
Anyway, thanks for the info/help. The fight was probably one of the most fun things I've done in this game. So awesome. :D Video coming soon if anyone is interested (will probably put it in the screenshot/video forum)
*EDIT* This was our first time trying this, a strat that is mostly manaburn/whatever. I've always used SAMs and whatnot to do damage to it before, but it's actually pretty ridiculous how much incredibly easier the mob is when he can't use TP moves on you. The first TP move it did was at like 23% and during the entire fight he didn't use any more than 10 TP moves, maybe 12 tops.
Thought you were going for a low number kill :wink:Originally Posted by Therin
Grats though, if only that stupid wyrm dropped something that made it worth your time huh
I didn't think people actually killed Jimmy.Originally Posted by Caudle
It was a pretty easy fight overall. Adds were somewhat of a problem as our original strategy was to keep sleeping 2-3 adds and then kill when they started to resist sleep. It became too chaotic and we just decided to kill any adds one by one. Again, a fun fight and with no help from relics to ease the challenge, felt quite rewarding.
It was the worst merit party ever though. 4 hours and I only gained like 300 exp![]()
if you went on pup it would have undoubtedly upped that exp significantly
garts on the kill though, cog was planning to try with 6 i was told, anyone know if they ever did?
If I went PUP, Serenade would have soloed it. She's THAT uber. Heck, I could even tank it according to ZAM
Jimmy is a really fun fight, specially when i go RDM/DRK. because it's a real challenge on focusing on stun. i stun Jimmy Blizzaga 90% of the fight, only time i can not stun him is when i try to stun Gregal Wing attack that i manage to stun a couple times. I i have my RDM max in Fast Cast EQ + Haste + Brd March it's possible to stun even spike failStuned twice
They tried with 6, wiped at 22%. Then the next week they went back again and couldn't get it below 50%.Originally Posted by Juvant
This was our first shot at going with less than 18. I'm sure next time we do it we can take it 100-0 without a single Sleep on Jorm and probably in a lot less time (our kill time was 3 hours and 46 minutes - there's no reason for this fight to take much over 2 hours, with some practice we can easily get it down to that).

That's where used milk cartons or soda bottles come in handy. I know you've all done it before.Originally Posted by Therin
Jimmy is really an easy Wyrm. I dare say that on a good day, Aspid would probably have to be harder. Only thing making it 2-4 hours kill with less than 18 is his HP. Nonetheless, grats on the kill.
I'd really have to disagree. Adds at Jorm are significantly harder and Jorm itself actually casts magic and uses AoE moves. Aspid doesnt even attack half the time, so it's a complete joke to tank and survive.Originally Posted by Khalil
