I can't wait for Heroes of Mana on DS here either. When is it supposed to come out in America? Rumor is it might include Secret of Mana on the cart as well. I keep considering downloading it in Japanese to see.
That segways me into my question..

What are some of the best DS Imports to get? I know about JUS, so you don't have to mention that, but what are some others I should check out?
    Thanks guys.

If you're getting/have gotten EBA (and like it, in the latter case), check out "Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan", which is the Japanese predecessor to it. It's also getting a sequel this year, so check out for that too.

Pretty much any of the few that i have commented on already Po.

If you at all like Picross... Picross DS is a lot of fun! Once you know what the menu's are, its simple puzzle goodness from that point on.

Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is really only interesting to me because I really enjoy seeing what the games are graphically doing in Japan. I love the style of this game (reminds me A LOT of Triplets of Belleville if anyone has seen it) but it is unplayable without a walkthrough/translation sitting next to me (which i have.)

The Guitar M-O6 game is another niche-y game, and passable if you have zero or little interest in playing guitar IRL.

    Other suggestions...

Luminous Arc... SRPG. I have yet to try this out, but even if it is easily playable, you aren't going to get any story =(

    Puyo Puyo 15th Anniversary?

    Bleach DS 2nd.
    Screenshot
Apparently THE fighter for the DS, though compatibility seems to be a bit hit or miss on some cards.

That is off the top of my head... i have too many to play now as it is, i haven't had time to try out Luminous Arc or Sekaiju no Meikyuu.

Check out this Picross-y Flash Game for a good idea.

Essentially, you have a grid, with numbers on the top and left side indicating how many boxes in that row need to be filled in. Fill them in correctly, and you will have a picture. Think... Sudoku+Crossword+your first drawing in MS Paint =P

It can be extremely frustrating sometimes, but it is challenging for sure once you get into the level 2+ puzzles. There are a few modes, and you can even DL new puzzles through Wi-Fi (but i haven't yet.)

Here is another Flash Picross game, this one a bit more complex... the one above was too damn simple.

Pretty much isn't it? Just a BIT more complex at times. It is a good time killer i think. With all of the titles i have tried in the last few weeks, this one has kept me coming back to it and playing it... there are others that i just play a bit of and remove =(

So far Dawn of Sorrow and this are holding my interest the most.

Dawn of Sorrow is made of so much win.

My fucking cousin over Xmas erased my save file about 10 hours into the game, and I have been pretty mad/bitter ever since and have not gotten back into it yet.
Have you gotten to the torture chamber area yet? That section is tough as hell.

I don't believe so, no. I just got double jump last night =P I don't get to play as much as I wish i did.

It really takes me back, the whole Metroidvania thing =P Loving it so far though, and i want to finish it and buy Portrait of Ruin (glitchy atm with DSX) and keep on goin. I can see that taking some time though... as i am already addicted to getting every soul i come across >.>

    /tangent!

I also tried Lost in Blue last night... and damn that game is hard. I felt like i really was stranded on an island... since i know that if i were i would probably have died just about that fast myself =)

While the majority of the games i have... came without a box. I have bought quite a few lately that i didn't "have to."

    PSP
    Gurumin
    The Warriors
    Pro Evo Soccer Winning Eleven
    WTF
    Loco Roco
    MG Acid 2
    Me & My Katamari
    and... a few more

    DS
    Hotel Dusk
    FF V Advance
    FF VI Advance
    FF III DS
    Mario Kart DS

Now like i said, the majority... have come without boxes, but most anything that i really enjoy and want to continue playing gets purchased. Ever since i first discovered a GBA Emu... it has just kinda worked that way. I like to sit at work and play the latest game that has come out, then if i like it i would always buy it. At least that is how the GBA games i have "happened." PC Emu and actual Emu on the DS itself are totally different... but it seems to be working the same as it always has for me.

Really any game you like... seriously.

Even with a flashcart I buy games I like all the time.
FFIII, FFVI, FFTA, Advance Wars 1, 2, and DS, Ogre Tactics, Fire Emblem, Castlevania PoR, DoS, Aria, etc.

If I like a game enough they deserve my money.

If you are just speaking from the "Deserve My Money" case, then I somewhat agree, but meh, when I have this available to me, it doesn't matter enough. And PoR works fine.

I have been Playing Mega Man ZX. It's ok, as far as a Mega Man game goes much of the same, which I love. The things that are new tho kinda irk me. Instead of a straight forward level inteface where you select an area, you have to seach around to connect to different areas. It gets kinda annoying having to go looking around to find where the next mission/boss is. Although there is transporter/warp system, it's a bit limited. Also there only seems to be 5 other suits besides the main one. Instead of 8+ that I'm used to.
Still i enjoy it and keep playing it.

Thanks for reminding evilbau of those tactical games on GBA. Gonna get on to downloading tonight. Would have never remebered to look into those.

np, those are my favorite type of portable games.

as someone who downloads AT ALL, i don't have any moral ground to stand on, but as someone who has created intellectual property, I believe the things I truly enjoy deserve to be paid for.

its really up to the individual, i don't judge. i suppose its how in my twisted logic i believe i'm being moral.

also buying my favorite carts usually means I lend them out to friends since pretty much my m3 lite and m3 simply never leave my ds. it happens a lot, and really who cares about 20 bucks anyway for one of your favorite games

When you can trade in multiple 20 dollar games and come back with 60-100 dollars because of these flash carts its worth it. Because then you can go and buy Wii or 360 or PS3 games essentially for free from these trade ins.
But again, I do see your point.
