So this thing drains the batt life of the NDS twice as fast youre saying? Honestly thats not a big deal, since i mostly play when its plugged in, and my plane rides are 2-3 hours max.
Please can you give me the site you use for GBA/DS roms?

I use torrent websites, demonoid, any really. New NDS/GBA games come up fast on those websites in single torrents. For older stuff, just look for those big rom packs, and use a bt client that lets you choose which files you want to dl, unselect all, then select which ones you want to dl.

and it doesn't really drain twice as fast, I think it might depend if you're playing a GBA or DS game. It's more like 50% faster, maybe. Like you, I never have a problem because the most that I play my DS when I'm not home is like 2-3hours, maybe 5 at most if something comes up.

edit: you can check out the gbxemu.com romshare, it's pretty old and full of popups, but it might have what you're looking for. keyword: might.

Seems like a good alternative to what you suggest Julian. Would it work? It doesn't require buying a SuperKey or a Memory Card apparently?

I'm pretty sure you still need a memory card for that.

And, as I've mentioned before, Slot 1 solutions do not support GBA at all.

They're all probably the same thing with different lables but the R4 or the M3 Simply seem to get better praise from what I've seen <_< Micro SD card from elsewhere going to be cheaper though, and they come with the usb connector you need to connect it to your pc.

I dunno about GBA though, I actually bought those

'How to' Guide for the M3, but I imagine it's roughly the same concept for all of them. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/451129

Edit: also, I'm sure you can find plenty of bitorrents that will give faster speeds but here's one for direct downloads~ http://ds.rom-news.org/

^By all means, look at the competition. I only gave info on Supercard Lite because that's what I have and all that I have experience with. Things shouldn't be too much different with the others, except you might need a different keypass device from the other company.

Just keep in mind that no slot1 supports gba.

also: thanks for the link :D

Holy fucking shit, that link is made of win and chocolate glazed donut holes.
Any idea how often it is updated?

You have to buy the following items:

    - Supercard Lite (DO NOT GET RUMBLE DO NOT GET RUMBLE NO RUMBLE NO NO NO, RUMBLE DOES NOT SUPPORT GBA, DO NOT GET RUMBLE)
    - Superkey (This device is needed to fool the DS that you can play DS games)
Edit - Are both of these available on that broken english site?
And all those items you listed allow both the NDS game and GBA game roms right?

um... for new games? it's certainly not within a day or two. But it's not terrible from what I've seen so far I find it hard to complain when it's direct download since I'm on a university connection blocking bitorrent :[

But I've only recently bought a DS myself, so I don't have too much experience with it as far as updates go. Also, in case it isn't obvious. U = USA, E = Europe, J = Japan on the ds files.

Um, I think the official supercard site has a link to a few websites, yeah? You can buy it from those sites, personally I think I bought most of my stuff from realhotstuff.com

Supercard lite+Superkey have GBA support as long as its regular lite, and not rumble (although no real time clock, so no gba pokemon)

    SuperKey 14.95

    SuperCard Lite - MicroSD[White] 54.95

    Memory Card 46.94

Is that memory card ok? I remember you recommending it Julian, if so are you sure the one I have linked will work? If not totally sure, will thissuffice?

    USB Memory Card Transfer Device

Will all this work, before I hit the checkout button?

@Po you might want to consider what I have chosen, I am pretty sure it all should work and I came out on top only spending 10 dollars more for a 2GB card instead of 1GB, which should allow 10 DS games easily.

Err, unless I'm mistaken Magus, the first memory card you have linked and the second one are totally different. You need the second one, the Micro SD one. Not the larger one. Also, my M3 Simply card came with a little usb device to connect the micro SD card to the computer... i'd be surprised if the supercard or w/e doesn't... but that would suck to only be missing that when it all arrives ._.

And just to make sure, the things you are after is for DS AND GBA. That's what you want right? JUST DS you don't need all of that.

I could just get the M3 without memory card and the second Memory Card I linked? And the M3 would come with the transfer device I needed?

That's exactly what I did. The m3 thing I linked is DS only though, keep in mind. I haven't bothered with the GBA thing, personally.

Also, very few DS games so far are 128 mb. Most I have on mine are 32 or 64(some are like 8 and 12). The 1GB micro SD card was plenty for me <_<

Edit: If it puts it in perspective, I have 17 games on my 1gb card

But anyways. I don't know about the Supercard device but with the 2 I linked the scandisk Micro SD cards are the most compatible with it. I've never personally had any issues with it so far, despite having a micro SD card made from Taiwan(the Japan one is supposed to be faster/or better made I dunno which). Only game I recall having issues from other people is one of the Castlevanias. I forget which but appearantly even the actual DS cart of it has issues with locking up :[

Magus, get on AIM, I'll give you one on one coaching/FAQ session.

P.S M3 Lite > Supercard Lite. LESS HASSLE!

    http://supercard.sg/htdocs/fruit.html

Cheapest site I've found so far. It's in Sinkapore $$ so it's 1.6 of USD. ie, 100 US to 160 Sing.

Ok I will just do the M3 Simply.

One thing though, about memory cards. Why the fuck is one memory card the same size, micro and everything, 3 different prices?

    Card One
    Card Two
    Card Three

Also this seems like a really good deal, would you discourage this?

I don't know squat about what the differences are -_- Only thing I could guess is if they're manufactured in different places. I just used one a friend linked me to on newegg.

As for the DS-Xtreme thing, no idea about it personally. All I really know is when I was looking around to find out info on which was better the M3 simply and the R4 are the two devices that came up the most and are supposed to have the best support/updates.
