2-3 lvls under alone, 4-6 lvls under with a PL (basically protection).

These pets might have low HP, but they still hit hard as fuck.
If your good you can learn mob pathing.
My first BLM I did in Bibiki off Hobgob Rabbits from 58 to 64.
You learn what will force a mob to run away from you then back into you.
Some mob pathing is very odd and allows you very easyily to kill shit for max EXP all the time.

Will the new signet change help with that? I think they increased EXP for duos/trios etc..
Most EM mobs only give around 90-120 exp, depending how it checks to you. Split that into two and add in the signet bonus, and you're looking at 75-100 exp for the both of you. Not worth your time honestly, just move to an area where you will find high T, and low VT. What level is your duo range, maybe I can find an area for you so you can use that as a template for level range.
Bah, I meant would the EXP suck on VT-ITs lol. I'm going to start when both are exactly 37, so they'd be within 100 exp of each other till 75 basically.
The exp would be great with VT-IT mobs duo. Only problems you might run into are resists and/or not being able to sleep bind gravity the mob. Though you will receive 200+ per kill.

nin, drk, thf, rng, rdm, and pld I've seen do this from early as 27 and up to 70.
Any strong/decently strong melee job can kill them with a PL. For THF I have been nearly one-shotting pets from 21-28 with Sneak Attack. Pull with Acid Bolts, let the pet beat Atum for a bit, Cure III from Septimus to pull hate, and SA even without a weapon skill will rock 75-90% of the mobs life off. At higher levels it won't work as well, but at low levels it really rocks.
but w/o a PL im pretty screwed right?

No. On THF, I would prep. Sneak Attack, wait till the right time to strike so i can pull the mob away without getting caught, and finish the fight with standard melee attacks and bloody bolts. You will be surprised how one good sneak attack and bloody bolts can do.

RNG might be a little tougher but, the bolts and arrows do the work for you. PLD, as long as you have MP you'll be ok. RDM, just like BLM except you'll have refresh and convert at your disposal. Use your imagination and figure out the best tactics for the job you are using.

Yeah, I can do it the other way because I have a strong PL to work with. (Yay /WAR!) But with shadows, sneak attack, and good timing you can do just as well. (The main advantage is that with a PL I can clear out potential links and convert beastmen to beastmasters in areas that have variable pops.)

This was already mentioned months ago, but it's worth saying again because it was fantastic PUP exp back when I had the drive to level PUP. I suspect other jobs can manage just as well:

Buy a Remnants Permit. If you're feeling spendy, you can buy a stack of silverpieces instead and make a /item "Imp. Silver Piece" <t> macro.

Go to the Nyzool Ja spawn outside Zhayolm Remnants at the cliff above the Greater Colibri. There are 2 Pikemen and an Infiltrator nearest your camp. Assuming you didn't arrive just behind a completed merit PT, the Pikemen will allow you to reach chain 3 the first time (2 wyverns plus 2 resummoned wyverns).

When the wyverns expire, aggro the Pikemen somehow and bolt for the Alzadaal zone. If you have a permit, just talking to the taru guard will zone you. If you have coins, you will have to spam the trade macro/trade the coin manually in order to zone. The Pikemen need only take two steps down the hill to be considered out of their spawn radius.

Leave Alzadaal, chain the pair of wyverns, zone Pikemen again, repeat. It's only chain 1, but if you get into a nice rhythm and avoid getting yourself killed, it's great EXP and IS solo in a TAU area. The only downside is that you're pulling from a fairly popular merit area, so you may arrive at an empty space or have your EXPing cut short by an incoming merit PT.
