Sacrarium XP Scroll

I've found it in a heap of different rooms. It definitely does move around once every 15 or so. I've been there with a friend and we've checked a room, I've got him to stay there whilst I went over the rubble to check last room and go back to the start. He went back to a room we 'd checked a couple of mins beforehand and it popped there.

Of course, I had to run all the way around...

I've had a friend watch the ??? disappear as he was heading towards it. It definitely does not change per day.

On a side note, I've seen some JP person wait in the hume room on Windsday, waiting for the ??? to show up (we were popping swift belt nm).

Probably went afk with a script that does "/targetnpc; *enter*".

Wouldnt you engage the closest bat/fomor with that script?

Been doing the quest every sunday for a while now. Does move every 4 hours gametime. Will only pop in the 4 corner rooms. Almost always get it first round but if not, the 2nd round will always get it for you. Keep fomor hate at 0 and you dont even need sneak unless in the actual maze.

This quest is greattttt for lvling jobs from like 30->60. Im lvling DRK like this and a good friend of mine lvled his BLM and SAM to 60 using this quest, uninvited guest, spice gals, and escorts!

I used to always get the ??? on the first trip through, very rarely having to make a second round. The past 4 or 5 times though it's taken me at least 2 trips, two times it took me 3 and once it took me 4 trips to find it. Not sure if SE ninja-updated it or if I'm just having some ridiculous luck but it's getting annoying for sure.

I did THF from 20 to 25 the same way because the thought of people playing "spin the mob around to make SA miss" in Qufim made me a very sad panda.

Moderately off-topic, but how many of you solo farm the Giant Scales for Spice Girls? I used to try with BST in site A when I was going through the PMs, but I seem to remember dieing a lot through miss charms and stupidity.

Think a BLM could sleep nuke the ones in site B?

I'm also interested in hearing tales of solo scale farming. I tried on SMN once, but wyverns run crazy fast and I'd rather not spend an hour per wyvern. BLM nukes sound plausible, but I imagine there's a lot of room for Murphy's Law to apply.

For BLM nuke soloing, would you cast Freeze then Sleep? Obviously, Freeze is a huge MP sink, but it might be worth it if you can't afford to sleep it ad nauseum. I think the highest other damage spell at that level is Aeroga2.

I hear smaller nukes & sleep down to 30ish% work well, then finish with Freeze. Always leave yourself with enough MP to cast Stun and Sleep 1 though. Bear in mind you can extend sleep duration if you overwrite Sleep1 with Sleep2.

^ People doing this immediately after I sleep something in Dynamis tends to piss me off btw.

been having horrible luck with getting scales before,.. and i dont like asking other people

soooo.... long story short, after people telling me i wouldnt be able to solo the wyverns i went as rdm/nin and it totally owns... fights are a little long, but aero2 and water2 along with gravity/sleep is the main idea (fire2 is bad cause they wyverns seem to have some sort of heavy resist to it.. seems like -50% base reduction)
bind resists build up extremely fast, after like 2 casts... so save them for when gravity starts to get partially resisted

blm/nin i assume is easier because of access to freeze and stronger spells

I soloed the scale we used to get through Riverne B last week. If you want to do it on BST, I recommend a straight serial kite. Go to Riverne A and convert to EM all the birds from the first drake area back to the displacement, there are 3 or 4 of them. Then charm the one nearest to a drake and use Fight, let them go at it while you run back to the next one. When the first one's HP gets low, Release and Charm the second, Fight, rinse and repeat all the way back to the displacement. Use Sic when it's up, if you mischarm use Tame and pop a jug to buy you time to recharm. The fourth bird should kill the drake, if not use Reward to buy yourself a few seconds and bail out through the displacement to shed aggro, then come back and try again.

I'm sure there are lots of ways to do it, but that's my method, it works and it's pretty safe since you end up close to a zone and you never have to run away from a mob that moves much faster than you.

If you bring tools for all the debuffs and don't get unlucky w/ shadows or that breath move they have (Radiant?), NIN/WHM can solo the Drakes in #B01 most of the time.

Sucks when you are unlucky though and have to walk back.

It might be, but there's also a chance it might have depopped and repopped as T, or that the drake just pounded it into the ground. Plus it's a long run back to the bird past a couple of hippos with an angry wyvern after you, so I don't usually bother to find out.
