    DoT kills and TH

    Hi all,

    Sorry if this has been asked, I tried searching somewhat. Anyone know if there's any correlation between mobs killed by DoT (xxx falls to the ground) and TH if there is any in the party of the caster whose spell killed the mob. I assume there is no TH, but just wanted to make sure if anyone has any other opinions/facts. Thanks!

    Q: How does Treasure Hunter work?
    A: Not based on Damage, not based on Last hit, as long as thief in the party TH is there.

    Hate it when your LS insist on having THF to have last hit, but they can't kill it, and making the fight last 10 more minutes just cause they don't understand how TH works :/

    Thanks for the quick replies, so you guys don't feel the thief has to do an action onto the mob to get TH (i.e. afk thieves is still good)?

    In Bhaflau Remnant, I've noticed a lower drop rate when bomb blow instead of being killed by the thief. Might just have been luck tho

    Bomb mobs seem to be designed with odd rules around self-destruct, chandelier, soboro nm and snoll tzar for example. Wouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to work differently to all normal non pc kills.

    Better tell all the shells that throw a THF in at 2% on a mob and they do jack.....I'd wager 99% of the time, they're not on the hate list.

    if mob dies to dot unclaimed (hi mijin) , then you get 0 drops ^_^

    Strange... Whenever we Mijined Simurgh back in the day.. We got something like 6 striders in a row. It was stupidly ridiculous. When we didn't have a mijin kill we went 0/ 10.

    No way to prove, but this is what most people believe to be true. My shell usually gets me in at around 10% and i go nuts on hate abilites. Voke, Steal, Mug, Flee, and the obvious SATA WS.

    Mijin definately gets drops. I go out an mijin warp on NIN in places like sandy and even though I die I still get whatever drops. Usually I get more drops by Mijin then standard, though it just might be a notice thing.

    Another thing that gets me, multi-hit WS finishers. I always see better drops on stuff and get better drops when I finish mobs or NMs with Blade:Jin. Case in point, 1:1 Test, 1:1 Jelly, 1:1 Bat Cape, 1:3 for the logs.

    Not to suggest anything, but if multi-hits work, could that be partly responsible for the THF SATA kill thing?

    People are talking about mobs going unclaimed after mijin, than dying to DoT. Mijin itself has nothing to do with drop.

    Multihit have nothing to do with drop rate. I dont see what kind of twisted mind would program something like this.

    another question regarding TH,
    If there's 2 THF with TH4 in same PT, does it make TH8 or just TH4?

    Well, it's been proven that as long as you take SOME action period on the mob it will trigger Gilfinder.

    I don't know why people insist Gilfinder works different than TH, they are both traits. As long as you swing and miss at the mob, you're now on the list and your TH is present.

    It's TH4^TH4 = TH256.

    gawd i phail @ search

    someone link the thread where the guy wrote the formula for treasure hunter using multihit weaponskills + random other shit.. and chilicheese made the super duper awesome calculas graph of ridills to fire crystals D;;;; (i think was on the old boards, so maybe thats why i cant find it)


    with regards to salvage.. ive had more bombs drop nothing when normally killed , than when they self destruct.... doesnt make a difference to me


    edit side note: i notice whenever i enter a new zone, the first mob i kill always(99%) drops something

    The Berith that dropped my hat died to Poison. Gonna go with no effect.
