SE Billing Question

Hi everyone, for some reason I got addicted to ffxi after leaving it for ~6 months... So I want to get back in! Now, I never understood this about their billing policy, and i'm sure some of you guys know more than me.

If I re-create my characters today, 2/19/07, will I be billed for the entire month of February and then so on? Or will I not be billed again until 3/19/07? (like how it works in WoW) It's not like I played WoW, i mean, ... yeah ... ...

As I recall, you'll be billed for the whole month regardless of when you start playing.

EDIT: and you're billed on the first of the month after you reactivate, SE doesn't do it like blizzard

yea, reactivate on the 1st (or 2nd sometimes the servers not up) otherwise you'll get billed for the entire month of feb

Also of note, when you reactivate you won't be charged right away regardless of date. Instead they just hit you up twice at the beginning of the next month.

I'm sorry, but this information and everything else on the thread is wrong.

If you were to reactivate today 2/20/07, on the next billing cycle at the start of March you'd be charged as follows:

Fee for remaining days of February: ( $12.95 / 28 ) x 9 = $4.16
Fee for whole month of March: $12.95

Total billed: $4.16 + $12.95 = $17.11

this is correct... they pro-rate(is that the correct term?) the rest of this month and start fresh next month

well unless they changed it, I havnt deactivated in about 2 years+ and they definantly charged my full price when I reactivated w/ 7 days left in the month ;x

Same. I've cancelled my acct. three times now, and all three times I've been whacked a full month regardless of how far into the month I reactivated.

They only pro-rate billing for the first month the first time you create the account. If you are re-activating an existing account, you will get charged for the full month regardless of how much of the month is left when you reactivate (last time I reactivated, I got charged $12.95 for 2 days worth of the month before).

Just chiming in to say I have been charged for a full month upon reactivating as well. Last time I actually reactivated on the first of the month, and they still tried to charge me for the entire previous month(account was off the whole time), I'm not sure why. I called them about it, they said it was a mistake and reversed the charge.

You get charged the full amount guys. They don't pro-rate at all. I can speak from experience because I have cancelled and came back at least 3 different times.
