Besieged is right up there with NPC improvemets, in my opinion. They need to give it some kind of reward. ANY kind of reward. I can get three times the xp burning wamouras for an hour. Maybe have rare items that can be lotted by anyone in the zone that was present for the entire Besieged and is level 75. Give separate Besieged points that can be redeemed for items. SOMETHING.
I'd rather lolHydra right now than go to Besieged.

I guess it does make sense that the Moblins would bionically enhance them to allow them to survive in Halvung since the Trolls were hired by the Empire as mercenaries and I assume they means they aren't native to Western Arajidah (or whatever the continent is named)
The big rhino of an adamantoise looks like something the Mamool Ja would make, assuming they know some sort of basic chimera alchemy (assuming Gulool Ja Ja is a chimera and not some freak baby)

Yes, but by killing Medusa INSTEAD of say, two of the numbered lamia, you'd only have a net gain of what, 120exp/is? It isn't hard to hit the cap as a melee, you can do it in the first 10-20 minutes, then bow out for the other 40-50. -_-
Getting at least 5k for a Besieged doesn't seem unreasonable; it's not as much as a TOA exp party, but enough to be considered decent for an hour's worth of effort and a 100% IS conversion.

SE needs to realize that people don't catch Besieged all the time and that a higher reward is in order. I'm thinking they keep the rewards low because they barrier to entry is so low but they don't realize it's actually a high barrier because catching them is a bitch (for a person with a job/school/etc).
If you want to camp Besieged 24x7 then 9k exp per day is a reasonable reward but I want more than 1k when I'm spending an hour out of my 4 hours of free time per day *and* happen to be lucky enough to catch it.
I don't think they'll increase the amount of exp gained by that much until people stop coming to it as much.
Not sure how it is on your guys' servers but Carbuncle still has the max (700) people in the zone sometimes during Besieged.
SE probably doesn't want people to stop trying to get exp/merits the old fashioned way at all. Some exp party's only get 3-4k an hour, so you know those people will leave their camps and come running to Besieged
It's a difficult discussion to have on an inter-server discussion board, because it seems like Besieged popularity ranges widely from server to server. Some servers have never lost, while some seem to lose consistently whenever they hit Lv5 or 6. On our server, there's maybe 2 hours a day where we run the risk of not having enough on for a routine win, the rest of the time we have 400+, and half the time the zone is full and locks out latecomers. Increasing the bonus substantially to something like 5k wouldn't really be necessary or even balanced with respect to other stuff in the game for us, unlike other servers where you could probably make a good argument for it.
If too many people in the zone is a problem, they should atleast start by booting and locking out the sub level-50 players. Level 20 whms spamming banish to skill up divine, no thanks.

The flip side of the increased reward argument is that keeping the AC is the reward and the exp/IS is just some frosting on top.

Also, back when they didn't even announce level 6 Besieged battles, I had always figured that Besieged should reward about 500x the level of the attack, and maybe half of that as the IS reward. And I also thought maybe these should be the NM EXP rewards:
Beastmen Leaders: 500
Mega Bosses: 250
Bosses: 100
Sub Bosses: 0-50 (There's a lot of these...so even 0 would be plausible. Maybe just like 25 extra EXP for the aerial sub bosses.)
Also, unless they already have, they should get rid of the Lv1 armies that go at 100. It annoys me having 2 identical armies for 100 AND 110.
