It wouldn't look good for a Japanese company to ban the entire country of China from using its software.

Not like it would matter, its not supported in China, anyway. They're not even supposed to be playing it, I don't think. Isn't there something in the EULA, or maybe some import restriction that makes it illegal? Sorta like why they put in those mechanisms to prevent DVDs playing cross-regionally.

Call me crazy but he didn't say "it would be against China's right to play the game if they just banned all of china." He said it wouldn't look good. It would be a bad public relations move. Yes of course they can do whatever they want however there are consequences for actions and taking that action may perhaps have consequences that they do not wish to have brought upon them.

You mean 1 billion people illegally playing the game (or if not illegally, whatever the proper term is for violating import restrictions or EULAs or whatever it is that says you can't import a game to play).

Still no confirmation that this latest round of bannings hit people for using vanilla claimbots? Rumor I heard is that it hit one of the top HNMLSes on our server fairly hard, and it's hard to believe there are still so many people around stupid enough to be using POS and the shit we know they've been banning people for.

I solo'ed ose to 50% on brd/whm before I got bored and teleported

In terms of survivability, bard is one of the best soloers.. just hope you have a good 5 hours to kill anything hard. Double march and full haste gear almost caps recast timers, and if you ever run out of shadows, most things can just be slept while you recover.

agree about brd survivability. Most people think it's just lullaby, but one cool thing about brd/whm can hold LOO with elegy and double ballad, -% dmg taken. However player needs to no suck.

NIN/whatever can already solo tunnok with elemental wheel and some evasion gear + enfeebles, safe cuz no bomb aggro. I prefer NIN/BLM for the added dmg.

MNK/NIN can probably solo stuff like tunnok with chi-blast with full evasion/NI-haste gear, but since I don't have mnk I dont' know for sure..

Is the limited play law still in effect for MMORPG's in China? If so, they'd have to mod the game for that, as well.

The point is that they don't at the moment, and so would not be losing any players at all (that had any business playing in the first place).

I believe it was put into effect awhile back, not 100% sure though. I read a report when it would be first introduced.
