Ok, uh... if you were to demonstrate the existence of exploits in Counterstrike and say "Hey, admin, look at me... this is an exploit!", they'd screw you too.

Why do people have the mindset that if they won't get in trouble for turing themselves in as long as they can drag someone else down with them?

Well, the main reason that comes to my mind is that if the deflationary trends continue, then Dynamis will cease to become a self-sufficient entity.

The fact is, back when Dynamis was introduced there was not the fuckton amount of the playerbase participating like there is today. Therefore, the items that you'd walk out with were in shorter supply... this helped keep prices up and you could sell your drops from your runs to fund the purchase of hourglasses for future runs.

Nowadays, everyone and their brother is running around with single coins in their bazaar... mostly for under 10/k each.

If people continue to sink 1mil per dynamis run while the value of the rewards continues to plummet (can anyone envision 2-3k gil coins? I can), then Dynamis will quickly become a losing proposition except for hardcore relic upgraders or linkshells that pool funds and pay for dynamis out of other gil sources.

While I am not at this point arguing that hourglass prices should be dropped, I can see it becoming a necessity in the future if deflationary trends continue.

    NVR PLAID CNTRSTRKE! DDDDDDDDDD:

I was just expressing my hate for those analogies. :/ I don't really care about somebody getting suspended on a game. I doubt Taj cares either.

Looks like they're at the point where they have started making "sleeper" accounts. The banstick comes by every month and they don't want to lose the chokehold on sky so that people have to buy from them.

Solution: have dormant accounts that you can activate once SE bans the crew that's up there.

I'm not really sure what the hell you're talking about. When I started Dynamis, coins were 3k a piece. When Dynamis was first introduced, they were going for 1k a piece. The crafting materials were equally worthless.

And hourglasses were still 1M a piece.

Dynamis was always intended to be a significant sacrifice ... we just got off easy because the economy inflated while the cost of Dynamis stayed the same. The only real thing that has changed is that we now have smaller groups and CoP Dynamis where the cost is split among fewer people. However, the value of Dynamis drops is magnitudes higher than it was when Dynamis was first introduced.

The only problem I see with that is they have to use a new CC every single time, right? At some point they're going to run out of new names / cards to use. Or is there another way around that?

At the rate SE is banning RMTs, doesn't look like credit cards are an issue.

You know those groups of weirdly named tarus etc... with rank1 going from L1 to L75 in a few days? Those are probably their dormant accounts. They probably get a good heads up so they don't get too surprised when they get banned.

I guess I don't mean immediately after it was introduced... but rather once people started to understand about upgrading relics and the demand for currency picked up a bit. However... the inflationary forces due to RMT and rusty caps may well have been in motion by then...

I'm not saying they need to drop the prices on hourglasses... just saying that if we keep experiencing the sharp deflation we are now, Dynamis can easily end up becoming a losing proposition. Personally, I'm hoping for a bottoming out or flatlining of the economy before that happens.

I love how people look at the cost of dynamis as 1M.

The cost of dynamis is roughly 25-50k per person. The fact that the hourglass itself costs 1M is nothing if you collectively pay for it. You can make 25-50k in an hour or two if you just farm easy prey mobs and NPC the drops. I highly doubt every single person here complaining about the cost of an hourglass is personally spending 2M a week, or if they are, aren't getting currency for themselves in the process.

The majority of city dynamis yield anywhere from 300-500 currency, give or take based on 100 piece luck. Even if the prices absolutely plummeted, you'd still end up making anywhere from 1-2M per run if you sold currency. Currency would have to drop below 3k per piece to even get close to the danger zone.

Northlands usually result in less currency, but the trade off comes with the better AF, making it worth the price. In Xarc, as long as you go for DL, you're going to get a 100 piece anyway.

The economy is fine, the problem is lazy people.

Nah, they were 3-5k for a looong while, it wasn't until after RTM christmas hit that they really started to fly, because somehow people had money.

Ever since, it's been on the decline, and i'm happy about it. As to where it will start re-inflating, i've already seen some small hints of it starting, but who knows.

Either way, I always saw dynamis as a fun side activity that few people get to do. It sucks that there'll be less people interested in doing it, but coming up with the money really isn't -that- much of an issue. Least.. not if it's split between a few people. And if everyone wants to do it, everyone can pitch in to help farm for money.

    I like it at 1m.

Someday killing an Easy Prey won't involve coming to within an inch of dying on the majority of jobs.

I guess you didn't Taj's thread that they banned him for 3 days. I think for one case or both cases but he was still suspended. Regardless if you help SE or not you are fu*ked unless you are on their payroll
3 day suspensions are not a ban. Ban = not playing anymore.

Personally, I'm all for the devaluation of Dynamis currency. It'll help my friends who're upgrading, and (hopefully) cause other shells to bankrupt and stop going.
