Retiring Chocob Questions

Its just about time to retire my chocobo, and as I did a reasonable job in raising him I want to keep using him after he's retired.

1. Can I get more Chococards after I retire him (ie, can I keep trading cards to other people to breed, and get new ones for myself)?

2. Can I register retired chocobos to ride (ie will I be able to change between, say, a digging chicken and a travelling chicken)?

If the answers are yes, how do I go about it as I can't seem to see any options to do with my first chocobo which I retired awhile ago?

Trade the VCS card you get when you retire your chocobo to any Chocobo Raising NPC and they will give you the option to do either of the above.
