LoL at that video i remeber the good old days when me an my sister collected pokemon cards. We went to the battle things too i was sad when i didnt make leader an my sister did. Anyways what # are they at last time i checked it was like 175 or something close to it.

It's still in Beta V.6 at the moment. They only mention anywhere on the site about one server being joinable, and it's not the default server. Have you changed the server already to the one they listed?

I don't know how to change it. I downloaded pol_6.2 and when I open it it says it can't connect to the.....mooserver?

1. Once downloaded, extract all the files to the folder of your choice.

2. Copy the cncs232.dll (that came with the download) into your C:\\WINDOWS\\system and C:\\WINDOWS\\system32 folders.

3. Load the main POL Client (Pokemon Online.exe)

4. Replace the default server address (pokemon.zapto.org) by typing in pokemonol.net as your server address.

5. Create a new account by clicking on the "Register" button (highlighted red).

6. Login to the game by clicking the "Login" button.

edit: lol yeah, I'm at work though so I can't use aim ; ; so sad
and I pretty much just copied and pasted there directions instead of posting the link to save on load time. the correct server should be "pokemonol.net" If it doesn't work the server is down, at least thats what the website says lol.

Oh yeah, and I know I read somebody mention previous Pokemon games getting shut down, and I saw this in the Q&A section and found it worth posting.


Q. Is this ok with Nintendo? Can this be shut down because of overpopularity?
A. Haris sent a letter to Nintendo asking for permission, and Nintendo said it would be alright as long as no profit is made, (I.E. There is no income, it would be freeware) It is highly doubtful that the growing popularity would force Nintendo to cease the project.

I'll give it that Bugs Bunny has a classic cartoon, but it wasn't story based and had no character progression, so its in an entire different league. Also it is a comedy.

While Looney Toons can get away with it, actual action shows can't. This is why, despite nostalgia, most American cartoons of that genre do suck balls, no offense, but they do. It's like watching a show with only "Fillers". I think only Ninja Turtles could get away with it, and even that had some story progression I believe.

Anyway, the Pokemon anime, no matter Japanese or not, fucking blows. Holy shit does it blow.

The "Pokemon Adventurers" (Pokemon Special in Japan) is the closest to the official story of Pokemon outside the games. It does has some big differences(for example, half of the Gym Leaders are in Team Rocket, Elite Four are eco-terrorists), but overall its just awesome. I mean in it, they make Arbok one of the coolest pokemon ever. Apparently, these normally boring guys can be born with difference symbols(faces) on their chest. For example, Agatha's Arbok had mind-control while Koga's had instant regeneration(it survived being cut in half, oh did I mention that, Pokemon can die in the Manga).

The MMORPG said game > manga > TCG > anime, which is awesome.

You guys are right and I probably should not have worded it in the way he did. But that obviously holds true for the other side of the argument too.

that was obviously a biased opinion, and so was mine on the other side of the coin, so you're correct I did leave myself open to ridicule.
I think that the compromise should be that those are 2 different genres of cartoon (obviously), and cannot be compared as apples to apples.
I suppose I just got offended since it was kind of blind to blatantly insult Looney Tunes in comparison to Anime.

I agree that there are some exceptions that were classics and I hope to god they never change.
See: Looney Toons/Tom and Jerry/etc. But like the OP said, they are in a whole seperate group. I was referring to the cartoons of today where it seems that american companies are trying to grasp the idea of storylines in cartoons and they just aren't doing a great job at all.
