NBA and MLB make just as much money, but NBA and MLB doesn't have near the percentage of arrests that the NFL does. I don't know what it is with the NFL, maybe the whole violence aspect, maybe the fact that they have 1 week in between games which allows for a lot of freetime, i dunno.

I think the NBA has just as many arrests, per capita, as the NFL. There's 4-5 times as many NFL players as NBA. Baseball seems less marred by arrests and more by weird injuries.

40% of the NFL has an arrest history, less than 20% NBA athletes have arrest histories. The thug mentality of the NBA is a fallacy.

The main reason people think the NBA is alot more thuggish than the NFL is because the NFL still has white players as their main attraction: Peyton, Brady, and Favre are still the 3 biggest stars in the NFL. The NBA trots out Kobe (everyone hates him), A.I. (thug life personified), and LeBron.

There was twice the media coverage of Kobe's rape case than there was any mention of Ray Lewis getting possibly tried for murder. The NFL is this sacred ground of the U.S.. We love the NFL so much, that we try to rationalize it when people get in heat. I actually heard ppl call in to radio programs today and sympathize with pacman jones. "Well, he didn't have a father figure growing up, i feel bad for the guy". The dude has been questioned by police like 8 fucking times. Got probation extended like 4 fucking times. Its amazing that the NFL doesnt hardly punishes athletes that break the law. It took 10 arrests on one team for them to say they MIGHT step in and take action against the team. They should just stand up to the pieces of trash currently in the NFL and severely punish them for crimes the commit. And i dont mean a $15,000 fine, thats nothing to them, suspend them for a year without pay minimum for any felony conviction. You might be surprised how much influence punishment by the NFL would have on pieces of shit like Pacman Jones.

i listen to "The Herd" too but a lot of times Colin spews BS just to get a rise out of people, he's an entertaining personality, and as he says it makes good radio, but he doesn't always know what he's talking about and a lot of times he's just illogical (probably on purpose).

he spent one show talking about candidates for the Charger's head coaching vacancy, the day after Marty got fired, and he ripped into callers for an hour saying their candidates were too weak and they were "ruining" his show.

this is typical Herd style talk. ignore that Ray Lewis is a defensive player that only plays half the game, ignore that football players have their faces covered when they play, and most importantly ignore that Ray Lewis didn't win a Super Bowl till the year after.

at the time, Lewis was Defensive Player of the Year. Ray Lewis had 0 national commercials before the Ravens won the Super Bowl. their popularity isn't comparable that's why the media coverage wasn't comparable, it's a lot more than NFL players get special protection (there certainly is some of that, but it's not as huge a gap as you or "The Herd" claims). and it's not a function of the league, it's a function of the sports they play, and who actually gets face recognition.

The difference in the league arrests is partially due to 53~55 NFL players (game day roster) compared to 25 (and more white guys, blah blah racist statement) in MLB, and ~12 on NBA rosters.

MLB players mainly have a problem with wife beating and steriods, whereas the NBA guys handle most of their shit on the court and in the stands it seems.

P.S. This isn't Pacman's first run in with the law, he is about on his last straw for playing in the league. Sadly, this waste of human life is only 23, he has plenty of time to do more stupid shit.
