I started reading the books recently (late to the game, I know, right?) and enjoyed the movies. Never finished any of the games, though what I played of the original Resident Evil and reading the first book, I can say I enjoy the book more so I can only expect to enjoy the rest. Been looking forward to this movie since the last one, I guess I'm just weird because I liked both the movies.

I have to agree with you, 1 was watchable, at least they had new characters and a semi original plot that tied into the RE universe.

2 was a complete and utter fucking butchering of my favourite RE game of the series, RE3. That movie was fucking BAD, I hated every part of it, from Jill not owning like Jill should own, to having the spotlight stolen by some bitch who fights Nemesis (one of the coolest RE villains) HAND TO FUCKING HAND! The hell?!

Yea the movies were pretty bad. I don't get why they wanted to go in this whole new story direction.. I think it woulda been cool if they just made the movie based on what happens in the game, everyone would have been much happier that way.

As much as I thought RE3 was a pain in the ass, I agree that it got butchered hard. The most laughable part was the melee in the graveyard.

Actually, it felt like Uwe Boll got his hands on the script or something.

the movies werent that bad to me, of course they didn't follow the game, or story, but were fairly entertaining. its not like they can't come out with movies that stay true to the games in a different RE series.

Pretty much, but nothing is concrete that it is even chris but it looks like him, and the setting is said to be south american, but the trailer I saw the area seem passable as being middle eastern too.

I love RE4 also, mainly because of the control and camera set up. Even though I played the other games over 15 times a piece I would still buy them if they remade them with RE4's camera setup. Such a bitch to see shit in the first ones, and in the Survivor series you couldn't really see much peripheral vision.

nvm looks a lot more Middle Easternish now that I watch it again. Also, note that the zombies in 5 will run and they can communicate. I think they are slating release for PS3 and xbox 360, which if MGS4 is going to be on 360 also (rumored in EGM a few months ago) I will be getting a 360 since PS3 is retarded expensive.
