    Assault point system

Well its been common knowledge that new assaults = 5 points and repeated = 1 point

Well i'm SP and i've done

    New PFC Assault Periqia
    New SP assault Periqia
    New PSC assault Mamool ja
New PFC assault Leujom sanction(horrible spelling i know)
And about 10 repeated ones 1-2 being PSC leufjom sanction and the other 8 being Golden Salvage.

I still have not ranked up when its supposed to be 25 points = rank up. Is there a cap to how much you can repeat one because the numbers are not adding up for me ;/

Only gives 5 "points" if you do a new one of your current rank.

Because as you rank up, you gain access to new missions, not gain access to new missions as you complete ones you haven't finished yet.

You're only gonna get 5 points if you complete SP Assaults as an SP.

That's not true. I was at the "halfway between pulp and worthwhile" (roughly 15-17 pts) yesterday, at S Badge. I did three Counting Sheep in a row (3 points), plus Troll Fugitives (SP Lebros), which I had never done before. By the end, I was able to flag my SM promotion quest.

I've never heard of repeat runs "capping" before -- you may have just been off on your counting, or you accidentally repeated an assault without knowing.

speaking of "new ones" when you are already past that rank, im on final tier, but still havent won "Lebros supplies" from the second tier (like many people i imagine). ive won all other lower assaults. For completeness, points, and mission log sake etc, id like to knock this one down. Anyone else in the same boat? anyone found a trick to make this one not suicidal and requiring insane logouts or blm thf combos? i dont like the idea of wastin gtags over and over on it when i still need a few Pahlu pieces for PUP...

Powder Boots. Lots of them. I'm not kidding. I'm still working off the charges on the pairs of those I bought after doing this Assault when it was first out. We had one PLD/NIN run around aggroing (not tagging them) all the mobs as well so we could Cure him as he passed without getting hate.

Started with getting the south side supplied while the PLD ran and got all the mobs, and he took them all to the south area and died and reraised. Then came to help with the supplying.

Untrue, i counted my rank up points to LC while doing only Tier 2s, i had done 3 Tier 2s i've never done before and Golden Salvage about 10 times...i ranked up from SP in about 2 weeks as well, i wouldnt be able to do that if all the lower tier Assaults counted as 1 point instead of 5 points for each new one you complete.

Eh, guess I'm wrong then. Could've sworn that's how it was done.

Oh well. I complete all Assaults cause I have Mission/Quest OCD anyway.

Lebros supplies isn't that bad, the 'round up all the crawlers' sac-pull royally sucks (have to run back through your train twice nin/thf with some powder boots is good), but the rest of it is really an exercise in communication & the ability to run in a straight line.

We won it on our 2nd try ( first try we didn't think to do the sac-pull), we had 4/6 people as nin, 1 rdm/blm with crimson legs & powder boots, and a bard/thf cycling powder boots.

Start out by feeding the NPCs to the SW, so you've got a place to end the sac pull. Then have a ninja run around rounding up 'nearly all' the crawlers and die far to the SW. The rdm/blm then tractors him and raises then they help out with the running of food. During the sac-pull the other 4 people managed to nearly finish feeding the NW NPCs.

We found that identifying the NPCs by "compass point":shield was the best way (all NPCs in a particular location have different shields). When someone picked up some food they said what food they got, and the 'boss' would then tell them where to take it and which NPC to feed. When each NPC was fed the person feeding would say "compass point": shield : food so the 'boss' would know the 'food points' that each needed to be full.

It worked well for us to have a "coordinator" (me) that kept track of who was feeding which shield type/location NPC, and assigned people to specific tasks based on what was going on and what still needed to be done. Of course, I was running supplies at the same time. And yes, we all brought as much +movement as possible, almost everyone went /THF, and everyone had at least 1 pair of powder boots.

Also, I've definitely had people rank up by going back and getting unique wins below their tier. What you can't do is "save up" points before you rank up; it has to be done after you complete the rank up quest to count towards your next rank.

I ranked up from S to SM doing 5 assaults I hadn't cleared before, only one of which was S rank.

I, too, have ranked up with new assaults from previous ranks, however not in a long while. After the first few ranks, I was all caught up and any new assault would be a new rank as well. However, for a time I did a lot of old assaults and repeats to help others rank up before doing the next rank of missions. e.g. ranking up to C, but before doing any C missions, you do random farming and helping other people get to C, too. So by the time you've ranked everyone else up to C, you accumulated enough points to rank up to S without ever touching C missions. Then finally, when your static is all caught up to C (except you, who are now S), you do each C mission (which is now one rank behind you, but are all new) and you are then able to rank up to SM.

You probably can't rank up for the same reason I couldn't for weeks: Talking to the wrong person. It's not Naja you talk to for the LC cutscene, it's the other NPC in that room.
