Hey friends!! This is my first time posting on BG (im kinda nervous hehe). Anyways, I may not be as eloquent as Rykoshet but I did want to put my 2 cents in. Therin and Kain are both my great friends and I dont like to see either of them wrapped up in this kind of drama. At the end of the day, the fact still remains; two fantastic paladins are equiped with excellent body pieces.
When Kain came into the shell, he was not seen as solely dark knight. Kain and Therin were equally used as paladin in our events. Therin, being significantly better equipped than Kain, encouraged his best friend to lot the surcoat. Since Kain didnt have an adequate tanking body piece, him winning the surcoat before Therin was more beneficial to the linkshell. I know Therin is thrilled to have his AF2, however, its merely a macro/show piece for him.
Friendship goes both ways, dont forget that. Through all of this outside drama, Therin and Kain remain best friends and I guess that is all that is important to me.

K but using that very same logic wouldnt it have been smart of kain to realize that if you view them as the same jobs and therin already has an adequate bodypiece for PLD that it would be smart of him to see to it that therin gets an adequate bodypiece for his DRK?

You're talking about Phobos's Cuirass, and yeah, your logic makes sense. Doesn't really matter though because I run the Salvage in LP, and we'll probably have about half a dozen of those things before we get the other two pieces for it, since LBC seems to be the popular thing to do for now. Besides, our system is that anyone with the appropriate job leveled can lot any piece, assuming they set comment before entering, and we have ~6 people lotting Ares body normally when we go for LBC anyway so whatever.
