Lol, do it. I must warn you though... should you do that, the forums might implode from impending overload of sexual content. Like Sono said, safety not guaranteed.![]()
Wow. You're super overprotective of a film (Infernal Affairs) that you clearly don't ...really know anything about. Two years prior? Infernal Affairs came out in 2002 - 5 years ago.Originally Posted by GRT

so five years ago, big difference, i guess it gives hollywood the right to steal the whole thing since it's not TWO years right?Originally Posted by archibaldcrane
and no, i'm not trying to be "protective" of the original, i'm pissed at hollywood for making crappy films and the BEST picture of a year is an exact duplicate of a foreign movie
and no, infernal affairs didn't get nominated or win a foreign best movie award... and an exact copy of it win a domastic best picture, what does that say about hollywood? crappier than all the foreign movies in a subcatagory of their annual major award show? hilarious indeed
GREATLY OFFENDED!!!! lmao it's just a movie that you have passively watched. So the fuck what...Originally Posted by GRT
The departed was amazing, never saw infernal affairs but honestly what made the departed so awesome was both the plot AND the performances of all those great actors. I mean Marky Mark was great in this. Marky fucking Mark.
um, it's a movie i pay money and 2 hours of my life to watch, why shouldn't i be offended if it's wasted of my time and money?Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
i mean come on, the GREAT MARTIN SCORSESE directed this, there has to be something in there that's better than some no name foreigner right? right?
It was a complete resetting, in a very specific place, that oozed it's microculture all over the movie. The performances were terrific, and clearly not "ripped off" from the original. I don't understand how you say that the camera angles were exactly the same, and then say you have no problem with Scorcese winning best director. You...do realize that directing camera is one of the things a director does right?
If anything be pissed about Scorcese winning best director since you claim -he- ripped off Wai Keung Lau and Siu Fai Mak's camera angles. The movie was terrific.
The setting, the performances, the overall feel, jack motherfucking nicholson.Originally Posted by GRT
i have no problem with him winning because he deserves one for all the other movies he's done, NOT THIS ONE
You'd be the first person I've ever heard to call The Departed a crappy film. Ever. The Departed is an amazing movie from all aspects, and deserved to win just as much as any of the other films that were nominated. It's an adaptation from another film, so what? It's still its own film, with its own style, and it did a good job.Originally Posted by GRT
Movies are for entertainment, and that's what it did. It did a good job, and it won a well deserved award.
Should just drop this argument now, it'll just go in circles.
So he's a ripoff artist, but still deserves an oscar. Just making sure I'm hearing you correctly.Originally Posted by GRT

performance: nope, original had much better character performance that reflects the inner struggle of each person pretending to be someone else
overall feel: again nope, the story was tailored around asian police politics, feels pretty awkward in boston
jack: nice try, jack didn't really act, he was just himself![]()
Aw, I thought the producers were the ripoff artist, but if you feel he is too then you can damn him all you wishOriginally Posted by archibaldcrane

Ok, GRT, feel free to find me a torrent to DL it or something so I can have an informed opinion.
That is you. Directors choose camera angles. If it's the "EXACT SAME CAMERA ANGLE in over 90% of the scenes as the original" as you claim, then Marty is ripping off the directors of IA. You say marty is a ripoff artist. Don't try to claim otherwise. Stick with it if you believe it, that's admirable - artists who ripoff other artists don't deserve respect.Originally Posted by GRT
Also, the producers paid to adapt IA. You can't just steal a source material, you pay for the rights, just like a book or play. That's why it's adapted, not original, like many, many other films. Would you complain if the dialogue in a book is the same as a movie? Most book-to-film adaptations are much closer to the source material than The Departed was to Infernal Affairs.
