I had the same problem before, ended up with my HDD blowing up. So when I got a new HDD the problem was solved!

I had that problem before. I think it was heat related on my end, but it can also be driver related.

Try blowing a fan on it when you play and update you drivers if you haven't (which i'm prob sure you did).

    Try omega drivers.

Just letting you know, you can make that second HDD a slave if you convert the files to NTFS. Theres a cmd command (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodte ... rtfat.mspx) that converts it on startup. Just switch the jumper to slave (take out the little black/white rectangle thing in the pins next to the connector).

About the problem, I personally would like to call myself king of rigging pieces of shit. So I'd probably just try and play at a low res, it reminds me of when I hook up my old emachine 333is (333mhz processor lulz) and if you try to watch a video it does the exact same thing if it isn't a really small res.

If you still suffer the problem please check your PC for hijackers or trojans.

If you are expert on PC i recommend the program hijackthis.exe to check out all running and autorun processes.

Google will help you find it.

This is how you scan for trojans worms and hijackers as well as socket and shell intruders.

Is the card being ran in AGP or PCI mode?

Edit: Check it in the BIOS (hold delete at start probably).

wait, are you referring to the priority you can set in Windows Task Manager? I'm always trying to tweak FFXI so I'm curious if that's what you meant.

CPU priority? Then again, he has a Celeron, which is single core, thus setting a non-HT/non-dualcore isn't possible. =(

my guess is the "Set process priority"
    realtime
    high
    above normal
    normal

    etc etc...

That dosne't really help, infact it could make your system slower and or less responsive over time because "that 1 program" will be ahead of everything. Running "anything" else will be slowed (over time as that 1 program is continually run)

and after you close that 1 program, your system would be very sluggish (long as in maybe 6+ hours) depending on system

didn't read much else of the other posts but i had this same exact problem.

it happened after installed norton, so i took it off and poof, disappeared.

the version i had apparently was running continual checks and it'd cause my game to skip pretty frequently on some repeated interval.

dunno if it's your problem, but figured it's something you can try if nothing else worked.
