Not all crossovers are mirrors of those sick fanboy fantasies seen all over the web. If a crossover game like KH can be done well, why not? I was actually very nervous on what the first KH might be like, and it isn't a perfect franchise, but it's pretty damn good, and I do not regret my time spent on those games (is there a crossover game that has been done better, not counting fighting games like SSBB?). The main problems with crossovers is that they borrow so much from other stuff already done that it feels like rehash. The KH originals stand on their own feet, the Disney and FF characters are the support characters, not the other way around. They made plenty of compelling new twists and revelations as they progressed though the games, and it was KH stuff, not Disney or FF stuff, that carried the story along. It looks like the next installment will involve the Keyblade War, something you can't find in any FF or Disney tale, so i'm hoping the trend continues.

Edit: That being said, if they actually do call it "Mushroom Kingdom Hearts", that would possibly be both the most awesome and hilarious title invented for a game, ever.

Like I said, the Disney/FF chars don't even have anything to do with the main storyline (except for about 2 or 3, and even then they're not really all that important, but just support villians), and the KH originals DO have their own ground to stand on. Don't badmouth something before you actually give it a shot...

If you said you played through the whole thing, or half of it, and hated it, I would've taken your opinion more seriously. But saying it's a dumb concept and it can never work, and you've got proof because you played it for 5-10 minutes is just cocky and ridiculous.

If done right, it could be a very good KH2.5 ... And I doubt Nomura would let it be cheesy, since he's worked with fucking Goofy and Donald for 3 games and kept the storyline good, while making them the background comic relief of the main party.

I don't see a problem with that as long as the Nintendo characters serve as the background, uninteresting worlds like the disney worlds have been thus far, and Sora's story will continue being the main one, while travelling through various worlds and doing random quests with the people of that world on the way of finding whatever it is that he actually wants.

Oh and Elcura... people said the same thing about Mickey having a sword... and I think it played itself out real well in KH2, and people aren't bitching about it now.

BTW have you even bothered trying the games out? Most people that make fun of it never even rented the damn thing, but still found it in themselves to bash it without knowing WTH the game is about.

Please do me a favor and play through at LEAST KH1, and then talk.

When I first saw the first KH game, I probably felt the same way. They are made so well, that it just works, no matter how weird it looks.

Exactly, I felt the exact same way until halfway through KH1 when I realized how good the game is, that it made me want to reserve KH2 right away. And many people felt this way, which is why KH2's sales have picked up by so much, and their release day numbers have been much much higher than KH1's release day sales.

Oh and by the way, if you own a PS2/PS3, do yourselves a favor and buy Xenosaga 1/2/3... the battle system isn't the greatest in the first two (and was perfected by the third), but the story is probably one of the best I have experienced in any RPG.

I'm still in Xenosaga II stuck somewhere (well, needed a break and found my FFXI addiction again). I have all of them, but refuse to continue until I finish this one.

2 was pretty annoying because if you didn't get the battle system you couldn't do anything... but the story is one of the better ones of the series, cus it concentrates on the 3 kids (rubido/albedo/nigredo.)

I think I was just underlevelled and getting owned on some boss. I just wasn't really in the mood to level my characters at the time lol.
