Yeah I know, that part rocks about GS/EB... but the fact that they won't give you your money/game unless you pick it up within a couple of days is kind of stupid.

all you have to say is "i want to cancel my preorder" and they have to give you the money back, or the credit if thats how you paid. it takes a whole 30secs and you gotta sign a slip. quite simple, sucks for their numbers but it's cake to take care of.

I don't mean before the game is out, but rather after... do they still give you your money back after the game is released? I assumed that they do not, and if you don't pick up your copy within a few days they just put it on the shelves.

Either way I never have trouble with my local EB, I know all the guys that work there pretty well so everything I reserve is something I intend to buy (put money down on blue dragon/lair/heavenly sword recently...)

your copy is only held for 48hours, however you may pick it up whenever you like as long as they have it in stock. you can get your money back at any time, doesn't matter if the game is out or not.

gamestop actually lets the money sit there as well, they dont take it in as profit, whereas EB used to clear out old reserves after a year or so. we have some things in our system that are just skus with no games as we stopped carrying the game new and its not associated with anything now. it's kinda humorous. that and things like $100 someone has on a ps3, theres a couple 360 reserves, madden 2006, etc.

It said "congratulations! 14:20" for me when the demo stopped.... i'm assuming I still had 15 mins left, but they don't want to reveal the plot yet (I used 4 corporal attacks on him too, oh well..)

I was more excited for the game before... I think i'll cancel my reserve and put the money on Lost Odyssey instead, and just gamefly Blue Dragon for now... if the final game is actually more entertaining than the demo, i'll probably just choose the keep it option at that point.

The battles are more fun as time goes on, but it's pretty slow imo... I wished it had an option to just fast forward like Enchanted Arms, or like... just cancel the dragon animations completely, they just take up way too much time and while they're nice, they get boring after a while.
Nonetheless, they got a pretty good Battle System/Job System thing going.

One thing about Blue Dragon though... the soundtrack is absolutely amazing (I wouldn't expect less, didn't they take one of the FF composer dudes with them?)

Really really really like the tower (or w/e it is)'s music, and the battle music/boss fights are pretty cool too.

Nobuo Uematsu is the soundtrack's composer. He does game music for a lot of games, including FF XIII so Mistwalker didn't lure him away.

The 80g version will strip the motorstorm game pack in and move down to at least $450. Still a better value than 360 for whats in the system.

It's going to cost more to continue using 60g hdd than 80g due to low supply. Also the 80g version don't have PS2's emotion engine chip, further reducing cost vs the 60g. The have to phase it (60g) out or it will bleed them further with the money the already loose per console sale.

One quick thing before I head to the show for the last day. I just wanted to clarify something. I’ve seen a lot of posts this morning related to the 60GB SKU and the comments by SCEE President David Reeves. As we announced this week, SCEA’s product offering in North America consists of a 80GB PS3 available in August and a 60GB PS3 available now for $499. We will have ample supplies of both models to meet the needs of consumers for the foreseeable future.
