lol, glad I got my ps3 when I did though... not having the chip is fucking stupid imo, regardless of how expensive it is for them to put it in there.Originally Posted by Deejay

Take everything with a grain of salt, even my quote. He, or someone at SCEA should have said: "There will be not a discontinuity of our 60 gb model!" To put and end to all the rumors. ;x[/quote:5f682]
But then Kaz Hirai confirms it. 1:50ish in saying after the 60GB ones are sold out, there will only be one SKU @ 599.

thats really fucking stupid, backwards compatibility is always key for systems, who wants to use their old console, or not be able to play older games?Originally Posted by Exoduso

How is Metroid for GC btw? I played the one for DS but I didn't like it. Are there a bunch of puzzles to solve or is it more actiony?Originally Posted by Oxyminus
I was wondering that too actually... wasn't a big fan of the GC, never owned it, but I did try wind waker when I had my Wii and it was pretty cool..Originally Posted by Deejay
Its quite actiony and one of the best games I've ever played. The puzzles are all environmentally based. They aren't zelda-style block pushing and such.

its a great mix of action and puzzles. the puzzles are "big" as in they take finishing sequences that usually cover an entire large room (yeah, the zones are epically big to boot) and you'll eventually figure them out through trial and error. you get a few of the rooms that you'd find in super metroid, you bash your head for 15 minutes solving a puzzle, do it, only to realize its immediately followed by another puzzle/locked door that you cant deal with until you get a new item later on, but that seems to be a staple in metroid so i dont mind it(think i have found 2 rooms total that go with this theme). the action is cool, so far its either being mobbed by 4-5 pretty easy mobs, or 2-3 harder mobs that take some dealing with. controls took some time to get used to. basically use the analog to move, holding the L button you can lock onto a mob and strafe, hold the R button to use the analog to look around, took some getting used to, but it works. according to the game clock im only like 3hrs into it, but it feels like much more. love how they dont let you fully clear an area at once, lots of overlapping through the zones to complete puzzles, again like super metroid. isn't the "first person shooter that just so happens to be metroid" that i was somewhat expecting. gonna have to put it down tonight though, figure I should eventually play RE4 since i bought that too
pretty much if you have a Wii (and especially if you had a GC so you have a controller and memory card) should hunt down a used copy. I was stoked that the guy at the store gave me the free controller and memory card to seal the deal, but at this point i probably would have spent the extra $15-20 to play it anyway.
According to my job, since we sell tv's as well, Sony has a new package coming out by Christmas time. Apparantly this new package will include a 80 GB PS3 and some form of Sony brand Lcd TV (I believe the paper said 55 inches, but it may have been 45) for $1999.99.

Yeah atm the price is set at $1999.99 but it had a disclaimer saying this price is up for change until its shipped out.

Man that looks awesome, I cant wait to get it when it comes out.
Yea, but they're going to continue working on getting all the games compatible and bring that percent up each firmware update. They were at 72% when the Europe PS3 launched. They had only a few updates since. Remember all the 8.1 and 8.2 updates? Both added games to compatibility. The firmware guys like messing around with the ps3. They will knock out the more games for sure. The majority of the remaining percent are games that didn't sell well, games few people will notice aren't playable yet.Originally Posted by Deejay

Holy shit, damn. Unreal Tournament 3 looks sick. I kind of want a PS3 just for that game lol.
But it's coming to the 360 too isn't it?Originally Posted by Deejay

At least, this link gave it away: http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/746/746631.html
yes, but the 360 actually has the worst version of it.![]()
Well that interview says it's a PS3/PC exclusive, so...Originally Posted by izembo

I would rather play it on PS3 unless Microsoft isnt ghey about user generated mods on Xbox Live.
UT3 is coming to the 360, just later. They started on the PS3 version 2 years ago, 360 version just recently?? Also the ps3 version will support mods/keyboard/mouse, so Epic probably prefers the ps3 version and they won't have to compete with H3.
That makes sense.
